BPL 14/15 - Let the Drama Begin

Point taken on the mid-week game but Wenger himself actually didn't want to consider the 3 Germans for tonite as well but with Kocielney out, he may have to put in Mertasacker so I don't think the midweek game was the reason.

At the WC, Ozil played most but Mertasacker/Schurrle more or less same and Podolski hardly played.

Not to mention Chelsea had 2 Brazilians (Ramires was suspended) who were involved in last night's match as was Vlaar for Villa at the weekend, likewise Arguero and Zabaletta for City.

Point I'm trying to make is that Argentina, Brazil, Holland and Germany finished the WC at the same time. Except for Arsenal, all the other players were in contention for the 1st round of EPL games.

Is Wenger right with his theory or are the other Managers just to complacent about burnt-out? No right nor wrong but interesting IMO and don't forget when Wenger first came to EPL, he was the first IIRC to question players diets and was revolutionary in this aspect so he could just be right again!!

now that you brought this up... AW in an interview mentioned that FIFA rules is that a player must have 4 weeks rest..... thus he is just giving them the 4 weeks rest.... but what is interesting is there does not seem to be any black and white on this... and of course this will mean that if true, chelsea would have broken the rules when schurrle came back early... however there was also no mention of this...

"In FIFA rules, you have to give four weeks holiday to the players. They need a breather.

I like to observe Managers who are revolutionary and bring new ideas to the game and Wenger is definitely one of them. Whether it's a FIFA rule or not, I think Wenger personally believes in the 4 week rule.

If he don't play the Germans and Arsenal run into difficulty in the UCL qualifier, he'll be clobbered but then again he may have the last laugh should the Germans prevail in the tough winter months with the heavy pitches. I know for a fact that Oscar was a burnt-out in the 2nd half of last season and yet Chelsea still don't heed this which I'm surprised!

To each his own I suppose and Good luck for tonite!!

Don't you think 20mil is alot of money for loan??

Might as well paid up for permanent transfer but I guess they worried if he's not fully recovered from his knee injury?

Break it up, it is £10m loan fee and £10m wages.

I can stomach if he stays injury free.

Barça officially unveil Luis Suárez - club confirm he cost €81m (£65m) and say Suárez 'had better financial offers'

£10m disappeared. Better than Neymar I supposed.

As long as he can score for what he is paid for, don't mind the fee :)

I would prefer an option to sign him on at the end of the loan at a lower fee but don't think FSG would fancy sigbjng on an aging star at £200kpw for a short term contract.

Hence, if it is going to be a loan, I honestly would prefer Eto'o. Unless BR is more keen to play diamond than 4-3-3, then Falcao might make more sense

The agent of Samuel Eto'o has told Ajax they won't make a decision today. Time for Ajax to move on.

There are 5 bids on the table for Alex Song, 3 from BPL and 2 from Seria A. Of which, 4 are loan with view to buy - 1 outright.

Nani could be going back to Sporting on loan as part of the deal to bring Rojo to Man Utd. Man Utd will pay 20m euros for Rojo and the wage of Nani. I hope Pool will sign the negotiator for Sporting. Top notch :)

According to this article, Reus seems to have rejected a move to Man Utd, revealed by Atletico's chief.

If he can get a full season and play every game, might be better for his growth.

Just that not too sure if Bolton is the right club for him.
