Osprey23 Turbocharged August 16, 2014 Author Share August 16, 2014 the papers predicted 5th for pool, one behind manure. NEXT....... Which is good imo. :) Less pressure on the young guns and newly joined recruits. I still believe we can make top 4 but it will be a tight tight season. Margin of error will be small. Man City tied down their key players and added steel to their midfield with Fernando. If they can keep their key players fit, title is for them to lose. Chelsea strengthen but frontline I feel is weaken. Will have to bang on Costa to adapt quickly as based on preseason form, Torres looks horrible. Drogba will be out for a while and their front line looks the weakest link. Otherwise, top class Midfield and Defense, stronger than Man City imo. Cech and Courtois, two top top keepers. My prediction is that they will be the two hot favourites for title as it stands now. Arsenal bought well. Sanchez will add much flair to their attacking play. With Carzola, Ramsey, Ozil and the returning Walcott, their frontlines can be pretty intimidating. Liverpool built up squad depth significantly and need the new players to gel fast. Key is their defense. I am not that worry about Suarez' goals if we can tighten our defense. Still need a striker to complete the window. Man Utd have the advantage of not having European distraction. However not in UCL seems to have impact on their signings. Lost count on the number of rejects they got from players who prefer elsewhere with UCL. New manager, new back 3 system. They are a few signing short to perfect that system imo. Spurs and Everton will be hoping to break into the top 4 too. Spurs under Ponchetino can never be underestimated. Hoping to see a reborn Lamela. Martinez will also be looking to improve Everton and signing Lukaku will prove to be a critical piece of business for them. With young talents like Barkley and Stone establishing themselves, Everton can be a dark horse. The above 5 will fight for the 3rd and 4th spot.

Osprey23 Turbocharged August 16, 2014 Author Share August 16, 2014 Would u believe if newcastle can clinch top 5 this season? Won't say impossible but I feel is a big ask. Put them in the mix of Everton and Spurs and I am not convince that they can come up top. Hope Pardew can prove me wrong
Thaiyotakamli Supersonic August 16, 2014 Share August 16, 2014 not possible with the kind of owner the club has. But newcastle considered active this transfer season and has spent more than 30m in signing new players. This season the owner back the club and they had sign some promising players like siam de jong, jemaat, riviere and cabella. Won't say impossible but I feel is a big ask. Put them in the mix of Everton and Spurs and I am not convince that they can come up top. Hope Pardew can prove me wrong Now it depends on pardew tactic as newcastle currently have a better squad than last season. Last season top 10 finish was not bad, hope can break top 7 at least this season

I haven't got the chance to see how this new look Newcastle play yet and hence not that optimistic of your chance. Tomorrow if you guys pull off a surprise, we can reassess
Osprey23 Turbocharged August 16, 2014 Author Share August 16, 2014 (edited) Hearing that Pool's search for the elusive striker would be: Eto'o on 1 year deal or Balotelli on 1 yr loan. Stop gap measure till Origi arrives next season Won't write off Bony yet. Rumour still going strong. Edited August 16, 2014 by Osprey23

Fair and square very difficult if referees continue to be bias like a certain botak.

Well placed shot from Ki. Credit to Sigurdsson though. Bony played a part by cleverly blocked off Jones. Blackett played well, very composed as a young debutant. Lingaard and Januzaj are no right wingback. If they want, I suggest Glen Johnson, will do well in that position. ;)
