Would b surprise if we can beat stoke today. Hope I m wrong.

Not only you, I also hope you are wrong, very wrong.

Really surprise. Don't mind I m wrong.

Win and kept a clean sheet. And really surprise Johnson is the winner. Ok, some breathing space for BR now.

I hope the manager learn something tonight. Dont be stubborn, dont be naive. And remember, you can never teach an old dog new tricks, because the old dog will never learn how to read the game. A clean sheet is always important, and hopefully it gives the team confidence, especially when scoring is a problem.

Good game. Wasn't pretty, but very very gritty.

Finally with Lucas and Toure, both were outstanding. Since when did Pool last got a clean sheet man....BR should use this as his wake up call. Gerrard should be a sub from now on.

Even if the match ended 0-0, I would have been happy because Pool looks hard to beat and they did put in a very spirited performance.

Lambert may be slow but his instincts and heading are commendable. Something for Balo to learn.

Johnson for once made me (or most of us), smile...

Waiting for the 3 points...

suddenly a thought came to me "When was our last clean sheet?"

3 points!!! Massive win required for our declining morale.

balo already can do better then lambert. but no one is around balo when he do that.

Good game. Wasn't pretty, but very very gritty.

this is what matter most.... for now...

I will say this is the best performance this season... the past match is like watching resident evil... except the red are the zombie [lipsrsealed]

first half was bad, but can see shades of the quick interchanging passes in the 2nd half once they get use to the fact that Lucas was the DM, do not have to pass back to him to spray the ball...

Lucas, Henderson, Allen and sterling all have very good chances. positive.

then Johnson scored.... on came Loverns, was not surprised that the 5 man defence trying their best to let opponents score.

a win is a win, another 25 1-0 wins please

from then on we can see Lucas and Joe Allen interchange to go up and both have goal scoring opportunity.

3 pts and a clean sheet at home, hard to be unhappy about, especially against what is traditionally difficult opponents.

Like most mentioned, there is a look of compactness and solidity, just the fluency is lacking.

It appears to get better as the game progresses.

Hopefully, this is the "corner" that we finally turn and from now on, things will look brighter, or will it be a false dawn.

Next big question would be does the manager change a winning side?

Gut feel is yes, but who will he change?

The stubborn one finally decided tweak the starting line up and won.

He should have done this long ago. He has forgotten that it was he willingness to change things during his initial start as manager that led him to finding the ideal lineup to play to the strength of the SAS strike force.

Gerrard, use him sparingly in EPL and start him for CL.

Next issue for BR to tackle is the goals scoring source esp from the front man.

SG is still useful, as a sub. Can see he still yearns tat authority though physically past prime.

Henderson gotta work harder and compose himself to earn his role, big shoe to fill. He needs to spur the lads like coutinho, sterling ..

Nonetheless, was a great fought and hard earned win :)

So did toure performed better than lovren? I feel tpure is more commanding, if given the authority to command his defenders, i believe he will do better. Needs that for his confidence. N so far, all the games he played this season he did well. Cant say that for lovren.

Maybe BR shld try 3-5-2

Toure between Skrtel and Lovren

Anyway how did the team defend as an unit?

as a unit not exactly very good but with Lucas and Joe Allen.. there is more defending in the midfield.

Do you guys (those who watched) think that Lucas is the reason for the clean sheet?

no. its a team afford. what lucas bring to defend is that we are less vulnerable ,meaning lesser attack to deal with as its stop at midfield.
