Perodua AXIA at RM24,900?

The way the Axia is priced at $76K is asking for an early exit from the market.

Same price as Mitsubishi Attrage 1.2 and Nissan Note 1.2. How to sell?

Cost price of Axia with Cat A COE at $45K, is $60k.

Price it at $70K with a $10K profit margin, still have some hope to sell.

Even German made Ford Focus Trend 1.6 (which is worlds apart from the Axia) is selling at a profit margin of only $8K @$88K.

They should close shop. Wonder how they survive?

The problem now is because so few Axia are sold, spare parts will be an issue, and insurance premiums will be high.

Perodua Axia manual now at $70,800. Further price reduction on Saturday.

Minus scrap value, only $6,800 annual dep, and <$400 annual rd tax, cheap insurance and abundance of cheap spares up North.

Very good deal for those who need a car which comes with rear leg room that allows you to sit cross legged, N-CAP 4 star rating and don't mind a hand job and bodybuilder's calf muscle on your left leg.  [:p]

Axia rear leg room puts many hatch and notchbacks to shame

Rather add 2k to get the auto. For small engine, I think it is better to let the auto tranny to do all the work for you and a CVT too...

I thought smaller engine use manual tranny can squeeze more torque for acceleration would be more practical.

A 1000cc car with auto tranny would end up performing like a 800cc.

Add in CVT  instead, and it probably peforms like a 660cc Kei Car.

Nowadays whether fuel consumption and acceleration are on par with manual shifter. So might as well take the cvt. Higher resale value as well.

Yah but CVT annoying sound and annoying drive.

Also more failure prone compared to manual.

haiz, if can get this car for under MYR 30k here, I buy just to trash and drive for groceries.

Are you booking this car? Maybe wait for the sedan launch next Feb before deciding.

What freebies are they giving out now?

I owned a proton wira years back and it cost me $97K (COE was $47K). If you look at today's varity of cars available, frankly none of the Malaysian cars come even close for consideration. They really need to work very hard either to lower price or improve quality.

Comparing apples with apples - a sedan with a sedan....

The Perodua Bezza (with a Toyota engine under the bonnet) might make you take back your words  [;)]

My gut feel is that it's going to cost at least $20,000 less than what you paid for your Proton Wira.
