Columbian78 6th Gear July 31, 2018 Share July 31, 2018 Very rare to see volvo haters, compared to the other conti brands that i like. Thats a plus point to get a volvo for my next car. V60 would be nice. ↡ Advertisement
jjandyy 4th Gear July 31, 2018 Share July 31, 2018 Not to blame but it is really the legacy from Ford's reign over Volvo Cars before it was sold to Geely. I think the car is suffering from the Powershift (also known as Powershit) gearbox failure, which is pretty much known design issue of Ford's dual-clutch transmission. Volvo was 'forced' to use the shitty GB on some models especially the 40 and 60 ranges. Volvo continued with Ford's technologies in engine and GB until they are able to put its own new Drive-E engine and Aisin GB into the newer models, starting from 2014/15.

Rangie 2nd Gear November 11, 2018 Share November 11, 2018 I had 2 new Volvos, S80 2.5T up to 170k mileage for 4 years and a XC60 110 mileage for 2.5 years. Generally first 100k during warranty period minimal problems but after that problems do come like change aircon compressor twice in the S80 and some other problems I cannot remember. at one time the joke was I don't need to wash my car cos every 2 weeks it went to workshop to fix something and they washed my car after the repair. I do believe problems would come after 100k. That s why my 2nd Volvo I sold off after 100k as the problems started to come. So far their warranty is still 100k/3 years while the Audi, BMW have much higher warranty. my current Audi A6 is 5 years unlimited mileage. That shows Volvo themselves are not confident of its reliability. But then they are very comfortable cars. I missed driving Volvos ↡ Advertisement
