Porker Turbocharged July 18, 2014 Share July 18, 2014 How do u feel when u come across above in a mall regardless of the human traffic? Do u think it is ok to allow ur kids to do it? If u allow, did u consider the hazard ur kid pose to others?? Lastly, wld u broach this to the parent who allow if u encounter it? Slap the parents. Poor discipline is the reason for uncouth and inconsiderate behavior ↡ Advertisement

Qpik Supercharged July 18, 2014 Author Share July 18, 2014 what you actually want from us? 你到底想我们怎么样? Just highlighting n speak up when needed not for others but for urself or family members. I saw alot of parents rather keep quiet , put up w it than speaking up. Maybe if it happened to them in the carpark n their car r damaged then they speak up? Imo, bodily harm seems to be the least concern as compared to their vehicle?

DavidOh 5th Gear October 3, 2014 Share October 3, 2014 I wondered if there are any parents who have encountered this before and how they would react. Some years back, my daughter was in the library (children session), saw this young boy about 7-8years old sitting awkwardly along the corridor between two shelves of books. My daughter approach him and told him, Kok kok (big brother) why don't you sit on the chair there, more comfortable and your back will not hurt? The boy turned and looked at daughter and shouted "you are crazy, get lost and don't disturb me". I was shocked for the boy's aggression. I pulled my daughter aside and told her that her good intention may not always be appreciate by people. I then brought my daughter to the boy and explain to the boy in a calm and friendly tone because I thought it was just some miscommunication like we adults have. To my horror, the boy gave a "dare look" and made this angry face at me. At this point, his parents came and I explain. The parents told me, your daughter is wrong and should mind her own business. Up to today, I am still lost as to whether should I really teach my daughter to mind her own business and don't bother about caring for others. I was also surprised by the parents reaction. I not sure if my daughter thought that I was a coward that I did not challenge them and "protect" her since she did nothing wrong. In way it is true, because we had already taught her that if she did nothing wrong there is nothing to be afraid off. Confused. Anybody any suggestion or have you encountered something like this before or what would you have done on the hindsight? Thank you.

My thoughts are: Kids usually take after their parents, learning following mimicking their behavior so I am not surprised the boy's parents reacted in similar fashion. There is a saying - not all that needs help wants to be helped. For such, best to leave them alone but does not mean we should stop helping those who welcome help. ↡ Advertisement
