Myrepublic has teleport VPN which allows access to PLP.

 

Anyone used the service last season? Streaming quality good?

 

I'm thinking of getting a season pass, heard that have HD streaming and can use tablets to watch too..

I understand the monthly subscription is no longer available there.

 

Just received an email from Fox Sports Australia for the EPL on Demand package @ $89 for the whole season.

Since I've already bid a fond adieu to Singtel 2 months ago, I'm probably going to bite the bullet too [grin]

i dont think it would be blocked in the near term.. after all, MR is openly advertising their VPN to PLP. I'm sure it is legal for now

 

as to how stable, i can let u know after this weekend's games [laugh]

Actually now they(PLP) have free 1 week trial. Can just try for tomorrow's games and determine...

 

My only worry is the legitimate level for the teleport service.

OK, my FR on PLP via myrepublic's teleport

 

i selected the 4500 kbps which is in HD on my 50inch tv

 

streaming was almost lag free on wifi (maybe less than 10 times over 90 mins, and the lag is less than a second each time)

 

on lan, there was no lag at all

 

only complaint was that the video seems a little weird (not as smooth as mio). it was apparent on sat and not so bad on sunday. Maybe as time goes by, will get used to it. I think it could be due to the frames per second? maybe i can tweak it somewhere.

 

Also, there wasnt any half time or full time commentary analysis.

 

What i liked was the ability to stream a game at any point. Eg, i had to play with kids and put them to bed. ANd i was able to stream from the beginning of pool's game at 10pm without knowing the score. And i can also fast forward to skip the half time break.

Whats your overall cost/month?

yeah, it is a good option for those under MR

 

MR 1GBps subscription is $50 per mth

 

teleport is $5 per month (free for next couple of mths i think. hopefully they will extend further)

 

PLP is $40 for season pass if you sign up as taiwan user. so that's $4 per month over 10 mth season

unfortunately only BPL

 

a little expensive

 

but plus side is streaming is stable with no buffering even at HD resolution

OK thanks bro!! USD10 per mth is reasonable but I'm a big fan of UCL football even though the hours are unearthly haha!

 

I still have 1 more year to go with MIO cos I got the free WC last year but searching for options as the price is getting more and more exorbitant!!

If any of you guys on singtel fibre, u might want to switch. They do throttle or block quite a few streaming apps or websites.
