I had used Brembo stock size brake pad and agreed they are very dusty. Not just compared to original, also compared to Hawk brake pad.

To compare braking performance on same car my current car. Weakest original brake pad, Brembo is better,  Hawk brake pad the best and also less dusty.  On on the front brake.

If I’m not wrong Brembo stock pads friction material should be made by pagid? And yes they dust like crazy!

It's not the brands but types of pads. No dust - go ceramic pads. Good bite then metallic but tons of dust. Don't think you can have it both ways. Maybe except carbon ceramic rotors.

I use Akebono ceramic pads. Is that Japanese?

Maybe European cars need to go on autobahn, need their brakes to be more jiak! Thus need metallic pads.

Your ceramic pad surely low dust,  I mean those Japanese stock pads, they can't possibly be ceramic pads if i am not wrong.

stock brake pad on Japanese/Korean cars is organic pad

Thanks. Any reason why the European manufacturers are not making the same ? Effectiveness issue ?

hi all, i recently changed my front brake pads from stock brake pads to brembo street brake pads for my car and notice much more brake dust than before.

Is that normal? I can accept more brake dust as long as stopping power is improved.

Another thing is earlier today i did hard braking to stop the car at traffic light and my  front wheels locked up momentarily i think, or maybe its just abs kicking in? Since changing my brake pads, I notice more brake squeal as well when braking from highway speeds, in the city its fine.

My brake calipers are still stock, only changed the front brake pads, rear brake pads are still stock. The rubber hose, rotors all still stock.

Thinking of changing the rotors to brembo rotors as well ( plain or slotted) to see if will make any further difference or change tyre to michelin pilot sport 4?

Which will improve braking performance more?

Some brake pad have more brake dust due to the compound used. For the braking power, only you can attest.

Definitely when you change to a new rotor, after wearing in, you will see a significant improvement in your braking. Cause your brake rotor now is completely flat so it have more biting point.

For a easiest fix, I will recommend to change your brake pad and your brake fluid to see the improvement, change your brake rotor only when your existing ones are due for changes.

@Ct3833

I think the drivers in the west want strong brakes

I remember reading car reviews when there are still printed on paper magazine

asian made cars often get criticised for their weak brakes

I seldom touch my rims these day. Cause I have kerb rash on my rims, I wait for the brake dust to build up and make it go away. So I don't feel so heart pain. hahahaha

But these day the rain wash away my brake dust. Haix. need to brake harder liao. hahahaha.
