Kusje Supersonic August 18, 2017 Share August 18, 2017 Don't think any religion has taught the followers to kill people. Have you ever read any of the religious texts before? ↡ Advertisement
Kb27 Supersonic August 18, 2017 Share August 18, 2017 (edited) There are verses in the holy book these fanatics take out of context. For their own selfish purpose, For to kill and to lord over others. Just bcuz they have a gun and a bomb and you don't. All done in the name of religion. Victor68 Turbocharged August 18, 2017 Share August 18, 2017 There are verses in the holy book these fanatics take out of context. For their own selfish purpose, For to kill and to lord over others. Just bcuz they have a gun and a bomb and you don't. All done in the name of religion. You are right on the spot. The problem is, leaders of the same faith always hide away and refuse to openly speak up publicly to condemn such wrong doing. This give followers a wrong impression that their religion is being suppressed wrongly. I think the reasons behind is that they are worried of their own standing and loosing followers for not supporting their own faith. This is not only selfish but not walking the talk. More direct condemnation by leaders of the same faith of any wrong doing would help address the current problem instead of 3rd parties or government. i was told they do share during their congregations but coming up openly is better and preferred than in closed doors. Declaring your stand publicly shows what your faith is all about. No religion teaches anyone to do things that harm not only your own faith but any living things.
Playtime Twincharged August 19, 2017 Share August 19, 2017 There are verses in the holy book these fanatics take out of context. For their own selfish purpose, For to kill and to lord over others. Just bcuz they have a gun and a bomb and you don't. All done in the name of religion. You are wrong.By and large, religion itself is the problem. Not fundamentalism or extremism. Ironically, A fundamentalist follower of Jainism never worried anyone, but they are far in the religious minority... Some even mock them. The verses on many of these "holy books" (not just Islam) are clear, they are Divine (and they divide) and so they are unchangeable. They are intended to literally "Lord over others." You don't get to choose and ignore parts because it's inconvenient. The weak of mind and deluded ones never even thought to choose, and they have many religious scholars backing them up. It's plain logic and common sense that compels the vast majority to ignore the inconvenient parts and continuing to hang on to the less objectionable parts while saying :"this is my faith!!!" But it doesn't make it any better. So.. they didn't read it wrong, those were written wrong to begin with.

On the contrary, throughout the ages to this days, MANY religious leaders have spoken to support, and carried out similar acts. Many more are closet sympathisers. And I am not saying Muslims specifically since they are not the only one, just the latest and most prominent. Many cannot condemn such acts because they have actually read the text and cannot counter the extremist scripturally without shaking their own foundations. You will no doubt notice they painfully try to avoid mentioning the unsavory parts.

Lala81 Hypersonic August 19, 2017 Share August 19, 2017 well the first 2nd third crusade is some of the most popular big scale war in the name of religion. I've read the old testament. All i can say is that it's a pretty blood thirsty depiction there.
Victor68 Turbocharged August 19, 2017 Share August 19, 2017 so in today context, leaders must be ready condemn such wrong teaching. too afraid to loose power? that is why we are going in circles
Playtime Twincharged August 19, 2017 Share August 19, 2017 well the first 2nd third crusade is some of the most popular big scale war in the name of religion.Interestingly. Before that, Christian Europe was a cesspool that makes today's ISIS look ideologically and militarily petty. Islamic middle East was quite advanced scientifically. After the crusades, things were reversed. That says something about planning religion Central of life.
D3badge 6th Gear August 20, 2017 Share August 20, 2017 Terrorists are all stupid unimaginative idiots. Instead of always bombing aeroplanes they should bomb the sewerage works. Religious wars have killed millions, nothing new, just move on. Some people want to believe that their religion is better than others but the fact is that they haven't even read their holy books before. I know some feminazis who are also staunch believers of a religion that shits on women.
