Hostage taker demands ISIS flag

 

A man holding hostages in a Sydney cafe on Monday has demanded that a flag of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group be delivered to him and warned that four bombs have been planted around the city, a report said.

A major square in the heart of the Australian city is in lockdown with hundreds of armed police surrounding the Lindt chocolate cafe, where a flag - black with white Arabic writing - was held to a window by customers.

It appears to be the shahada, or profession of faith in Islam, and says: "There is no god but Allah; Mohammed is the Messenger of Allah." Channel Ten said it had spoken to two of the hostages inside the cafe and the man holding them had made a series of demands.

"Our #TenNews team have spoken directly to 2 hostages inside the café... They are confirming 2 demands from the perpetrator," the network tweeted.

"He needs the ISIL flag to be directly delivered to the cafe; And his 2nd request is to speak to the Prime Minster.

I just watched Captain Philips and I hope they send in

 

Seal Team 6 and take out the terrorists.

 

I am not sure Australian SAS have any experience

 

in seige situations.

He's an amateur. Definitely an amateur. Amateur of the novice kind. Either that or Amazon.com shipping delayed due to Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Green Monday.

actually how to ascertain that those who escaped are hostages and not terrorists? maybe there is more than meets the eye? Hmmm

they are not hiding any conceal weapons.

Very obvious he didn't bring it on purpose.

 

He is making a statement. If the Aussie really give the flag, it shows that the Aussies are submitting to the will of ISIS and terrorist in general.

 

It's an attempt to humiliate the Aussies.

 

Why do I get the feeling things will not end so well and there might be collateral. :/

they are smart to do this in Aussie.

 

I think Aussie prisons are like a heaven, and have no death sentence.

 

Try doing this in SG.... the rope is waiting for them and our prison living condition is a slum
