i think the LTA really need to reflect their decision to make some junctions to have a lane that can go straight and turning right but is allowed to move at different timing. i have seen many times that the first car (A) in front wanted to turn right but the green light is only for cars that going straight. so this bugger stopping his (A) car (usually lane 2) and holding back all the other car drivers who are going straight.

Then what happen later is even more funny. when the green light for going straight goes off and the arrow light for turning right turns up, the first (A) car starts to move-off happily. then the second car behind the right turning car stops in-front and hold up all the right turning cars on his lane behind him. [smash]

i dont know why is it for the LTA to program the lights to work this way. really no horse run. [drivingcar]

Thats why they are called LTA ---- Low Talent Axxholes mah! Edited by Super7

All this while with my shallow English, I thought it meant for " Lousy Transportation Authoritarians " [:(]

Excellent idea! Then, if enough of us bother to write in with the exact same feedback, they may (if they don't outright ignore it), grudgingly convene a "public conversation" panel of mouthpieces, with the audience being carefully selected from the "Whites", so that the outcome/verdict is predetermined - that the existing system doesn't need a change. [rolleyes]

Pecisely, those 'In Conversation' programs............I'm better off talking to myself. [lipsrsealed][:p]

LTA is quick in responding in my opinion, call them and they replied my call within 2 hrs. Sent email on sunday night, called to on Monday morning. If proper feedback is given, actions will be taken.

Unlike town council, i sent them email and they say will take action. 1 year later nothing done. lousy.

Response fast doesn't mean fix problem fast and good. Feedback to LTA before, they did response fast but never able to solve the problem, and left the issue hanging there!

+1. Conspiracy theories like reducing traffic speeds so a congestion charge can be justifiably, and idling times so more revenue can be collected through petrol taxes, etc., have been proposed. But in the light of the CPF saga, one stands a good chance of being sued for making such allegations.

So of course they're all just nonsense. Perish the thought of any dishonesty on the government's part. The government is totally honest and would never do such a thing. :D You can allege incompetence, but never impropriety.

But I'm still left with the unresolved question: if they're incompetent, then why the eff are we paying them so effin' much? [laugh]

BTW, the straight/right-turning lane thing is a pesky issue that causes annoyance at worst.

But there's another issue that really should be addressed quickly, because it compromises safety, namely allowing traffic to turn right in the face of crossing pedestrians. Numerous accidents because of this road design have already been reported, how much more of an incentive to change do they need? [rolleyes]

Agreed. I remember I read somewhere that Singapore has intelligent traffic signal control installed. So it's like the signal timing changes based on traffic demand. Though I think it is still an area under research and there are potential for improvements.
