TVT Supercharged June 17, 2014 Share June 17, 2014 Even if you manage to find a spare tyre (with the rim), will the positioning of the 4 holes (for the bolt) matched with that of your car ?
TJX Turbocharged June 18, 2014 Share June 18, 2014 Even if you manage to find a spare tyre (with the rim), will the positioning of the 4 holes (for the bolt) matched with that of your car ? Think his is 5 holes since 5x100.

Daniellica 2nd Gear June 18, 2014 Share June 18, 2014 Problem in our tiny island is, even if u managed to find that spare tyre, do note that the tyre itself is a few years old already. And tyres have a certain shelf life. To make things worst, in sg, almost none tyre shops sells new or freshly produced space saver spare tyres. Becos of the poor sales factors and too many variations.

Spinelli_ck 6th Gear June 19, 2014 Share June 19, 2014 i have a FWD car that comes with a space-saver tyre. the instruction on the sticker states that it should only be mounted as a rear wheel. if one of the front tyres suffers a puncture, it would be necessary to rotate the rear wheel to the front first.
Roberttan 5th Gear June 19, 2014 Share June 19, 2014 isn't the PCD specified as 5x100? meaning its 100? only issue is the bore size. yes we are overlooking the centre BIG hole. for your Subaru should be 5 x 100 center hole 56.15 mm make sure your got 1 the same spec or bigger center is FINE strictly for temporary only
Daniellica 2nd Gear June 19, 2014 Share June 19, 2014 i have a FWD car that comes with a space-saver tyre. the instruction on the sticker states that it should only be mounted as a rear wheel. if one of the front tyres suffers a puncture, it would be necessary to rotate the rear wheel to the front first. Technically to say is correct. Becos fwd traction cums from front. Turning also front takes more workload. Also to support this theory is that those professional tyres shop will always install new tyres on the front rather than the back. Well, 2 school of thoughts... But then again, if a tyre shop is open nearby or within 5km, u have to decide to bochap and put front only but drive slowly to shop or would u rotate the rear tyre to install in front and then spare tyre at rear? Its your call... For me, i choose the easier and faster way since the tyre shop is within 5km away.
Daniellica 2nd Gear June 19, 2014 Share June 19, 2014 yes - scrap yards does not have it. Can try wlds ind pk E scrap yards or worst to worst, get a full sized spare. Also, can try your luck at the tyre shop nearby tampines giant beside that so called famous Bak Kut Teh. Btw, like i said. Almost bo hua or no point getting from yards... Becos tyres have a lifespan/shelf life. So full size spare in long run is more economical. You can rotate amongst the 4 tyres, and that "spare" will always be properly inflated. (How many ppl here actually chk and inflates their spare tyre regularly? For me, i wash, check and inflate my space saver once a month.) ↡ Advertisement
