I am considering both: Infiniti - 400hp, I prefer turbos to SC, hate the driver aid tech package. Don't need all these fancy lane departure warning steer by wire crap Jag - Nicer interior, hate the gear knob, but the ZF8 spd is far superior to the Merc 7 G tronic Q50 uses Any idea if the Q50 is using the 5th gen 7 g tronic or the 6th gen 7 g plus? Don't knock the DAS till you've tried it - I tried it at the Infiniti drive experience and was impressed enough to stump up the additional $18k... and local Q50s don't have the full lane departure technology. But yes, Jag interior really swee. and the XE is damn fierce. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infiniti_Q50#Transmissions 2.0T is using 7 g tronic plus 3.0 is Jatco JR712E Red Sport not updated to Wiki yet, but since the power requirements are similar, perhaps it is the JATCO unit... The Jatco I believe was designed to be compatible with hybrids, its designed from Jatco to mate to a hybrid motor at the housing. The 7 G tronic is good for up to 700NM, shouldn't be a problem handling the 3.0TT. No idea which box gives a better experience though. If I read you wiki link correctly, the 3.7 non hybrid is using the 7G as well. Only the Q50 hybrids using the Jatco. The kerb weight of the Q50 is quite staggering! 1.7 tons for a 3 series size body. The 3.0 should weight in at 1.8! Is yours the Sport model? Do the feel the heavy weight inertia in daily driving? Q50 is longer and I think wider than 3 series. In fact, it is the longest in a class. Between 3 series n 5 series length. Go buy jag xe.

I did. I was quite disturbed by how the steering ratio (not the weight but the turn to turn ratio) varies with speed without warning. e.g. I tried to do a U turn and the ratio felt like it changed as I accelerated lightly thru the 180 turn. Do you get that? Or was it just my mind playing tricks due to the steering getting heavier as I picked up speed. I am very tempted. Just hoping for COE to drop a bit and for Wearnes to give me a price. Edited May 13, 2016 by Ake109

Now that I am used to it, actually feels pretty good!
