Basically pre owned la. They put cars on the road esp for new models. Create awareness then sell to buyers as second hand la.

And also to bait you into show room.

Yup, test drive and showroom units can also be sold off as "management units". Just a nicer way of calling it...

Showroom unit sounds better to me than management unit.

From $143,800 now in this morning's papers. Not sure what the T&C are but they are promising dollar for dollar rebate if COE falls. Seems fairly unprecedented.

If I am not mistaken, almost all Managers and above at Wearnes get a car to drive as part of their remuneration package. When these units reach a certain mileage, they can be put up for sale as Management units. There are also test drive units and showroom units for sale, which would command a lower price too.

Personally, I would rate showroom unit as the "best" value since it would have incurred minimal mileage. Management units probably aren't well taken cared of since the Managers don't own them and test drive units would probably have been pushed to their limits by prospective buyers. The worst would be the media test drive unit - probably already kena whacked to the max by journalists.

Volvo has been doing this dollar for dollar rebate thingy for several years now. It is likely a sales tactic to convince prospective buyers who are worried that COE will drop further, to commit NOW. Almost like a form of insurance against "losing out" if COE drops further signing on the dotted line.

Hi, I had book a brand new Infiniti Q50 Premium on 13 Feb 2016 with a dollar for dollar rebate if COE falls below $39K.

However, due to an unforseen situation, I need to cancel it.  If anyone is interested to take over, pls feel free to contact me via email at [email protected] and I will provide the necessary details there.

Thanks

Tried to close the boot several times but the boot bounced open.

Was worried that the software of the car was screwed.  Then I realised, the key was in my gym

bag that I left in the boot.  The safety feature really works .... And it was my software that was screwed

.... my own brain.

Hi guys! Just booked a premium today. Torn between Melbac black and Graphite shadow, but chose the latter due to easier maintenance. Have they resolved the NavSat issues yet? It is a $2k option, so not sure whether to take it up.

A bit less painful for bros that bot the premium model earlier at higher COE like myself, now that Wearnes has introduced the basic model.

They lelong using the basic model, and keep the prices for the premium and sports models relatively more elevated.

At least this is how I look at it, to console myself haha...  :a-m1524:

Guys, I am eyeing this car. How is the drive by wire steering so far on our roads?

The wearnes models use the drive by wire and not the electric assist right? Understand the DBW is an option.

Don't think so.

Electrical assist means there is still a manual connection between wheel and steering, just that electric motor is assisting.

DBW means total disconnect. Your steering input is converted into digital signal and this signal is fed into motors to do the turning according to what the computer interprets.

Just like normal hydraulic power steering. You can also have drive by wire with hydraulics, theoretically.

Imagine Iron Man armor. You can have iron man flex his arm, and the motor amplifies his arm muscle movement.

Or you can send digital signal to the suit, and the arm moves by its own.
