Any one know about the new Infiniti Q50

I test drove it before Christmas that week and I must say I am impress with the power and the handling of the Q50. However if you are a golfer and travels in and out to Malaysia for golf with your kakis, you may only put 2 golf bags in my opinion. The boot is really small and all models of the Q50 does not comes with GPS.

What's this management car stunt that Wearnes has been pulling ? It's very annoying and to the extent I think it's a form of bait and switch.

They would advertise low price with small print which you'd normally not notice. When you showed up, you'll then be told the pricing is from price and the low price advertised are for management car.

What are these management cars and where the hell they have so many so-called managers ?

Same trick at Volvo and Jaguar. It's a standard Wearnes tactic.

Boot for q50 is 500 litres in volume, considered quite big in its class. But due to wheel arch eating into boot space, shape may not be ideal for 4 golf bags. A Fwd car or large premium car may be better for golf bags imho.

They advertise for management and new units. So who already went down to clarify?

We have a closed infiniti fb grp. A se already clarified through it on 149500 is for used Mgt unit.

I should have stated it was Volvo that I was tricked earlier.  Indeed, typical Wearnes.  Otherwise, it would be event car.

yes, because considered as sports sedan, the boot is not square at all. FWD will be better. However, during recent holiday trip, managed to fit two huge luggage in the boot when driving to Changi. 3rd piece must put in back seat.

I must say I was damn impressed with Jetta boot space the other day. very very usable and rectangular. That's the advantage of FWD...

on the other hand, wearnes premium over car cost is lower than most other luxury marques... so is it a case of bluffing oneself to feel better? Ah-Q?

e.g.

at BMW, you pay a $50k premium on a $120k basic car cost for total $170k price and feel shiok.

at wearnes, you pay $35k premium for a $135k basic car cost but feel less shiok due to the advertising tactics?

I don't quite follow.  I was talking about Wearnes and are you saying Wearnes is selling BMW too ?

You are probably comparing Wearnes against PML, but then again because there are many suckers for BMW.

Comparing markup between agents is one thing, advertising by tricking is another.

If there is a fine print, then its not tricking. Just gotta read carefully. If no fine print then really consider tricking le.

Hmm, getting technical.  If there's no intention to trick, why fine print ?

With their JLR and Volvo sections it is common to see the Management Units in the pre-owned section of Wearnes' website.

I have just checked, however, there are only a couple of M37's from the Infiniti stable.

Most don't buy q50 for boot space, although the car does have a surprisingly large boot, for it's class.

Have gotten over the lack of GPS.

In SG where roads keep changing, in-built GPS not optimal if not updated very regularly.

And I realize you can place your smartphone in the top screen recess, and use google maps. Works quite nicely.  [:)]

Caveat emptor I guess. Every brand has it's own set of tricks. Once you look past the trick you can evaluate the value of the buy.

Like how Kia and Hyundai advertise their K3 and Elantra with the low priced basic version... Then you go and find that you need to top up $10k for a $2k increase in OMV if you get the version with a decent set of kit.

For the GPS part I am ok with not have it comes with the car as I used Google map most of the time. I just wonder why they do not include singe the system as per what I was told by the SE, it is using Intel chip, so I just feel what is so difficult to install the software into the car. Anyway its just my opinion. As for the boot space, the depth of the boot is superb, too bad due to it is a RWD the wheel arc eats into the boot space. Overall, I like it very much, just have to save a bit more first. hahahaha

If, like Ford, they explained a licence fee that needs to be paid locally for GPS installations, though that might also be depending on the software/hardware in each model.

Obviously, VW and other brands supply but it was "convenient" that both Regent and Wearnes mentioned, within a hundred dollars, the same fee for installing GPS. I tend to stick to HERE Maps which have always been downloadable worldwide where Google has only just made this available.

I just haven't been able to find a good place for my phone.

Can try placing it over the top screen. Just that you won't be able to see the useless clock... haha

Supposedly in the US, Infiniti will release the Android Auto software into new cars sometime this year.

I am not sure what car dealers in Singapore are doing but I think when we have car software that will sync with our phones, it will be a very strong selling point.  For example : I use Samsung phones at home (everyone) and we have Samsung (almost everything) ... IOT ...  Infiniti can get a one up on other car makes if they push this.

Only problem is our current Windows based software ... quirky, crashes once in a while  ....

I don't want to stick anything to the screen to hold my phone.......there isn't a flat surface/edge anywhere and it definately won't just balance on the tiny little shelf. Additionally I need that screen for hands-free because my phonebook comes up there. Unfurtunately it's not just a useless clock, it's also my contact list.

Ramansg; even I use a Windows Phone there is no real sync option, software wise, to it. The Q50, as far as I believe, can read out emails etc. already and can dictate a reply on Android phones (Y or N?) but with a WP we only get SMS (which anyway has come in very handy with voice activated/dictated replies even understanding my accent). I don't have any major problem with Q50 software. Let's face it, at the moment set the car up initially and there is very little to touch thereafter. Set-up a second driver a different way and the settings are stored with the second seat or key and if you want a Guest after that with an existing, no problem.

Don't have to stick anything.

Don't use Maps very often. But when I do, I set up everything on my phone, and stick the phone in the screen-well before I set off. Easy peasy.

The phone doesn't really move around even if you corner or accelerate hard, cos the shelf is quite deep, and tilted back at least 15 degrees.
