Hey guys, my Axio also have this Engine vibration going on for 1-2 secs when car is in STOP position. When moving no such problem. TB has been cleaned.

So could be EM problem?

Sounds like Engine mouting issue, but With such a short 2 sentence description, only god can confirm what is the problem.

Many problem can cause the vibration.... you need to take a look physically on the mounting to confirm. If you are not familiar, bring to a nearby workshop. The mech will check n to tell you whether it is engine mounting that gives the problem.

the mount wont drop . 3 mount usually changed one by one not all together. so still got another 2 to hold it up.

not necessary, if found late, all mounting could be damaged cause 1 damaged means additional stress to the rest of the engine mounting.

Yes, the engine wont drop cause what worn on the engine mounting its just the rubber part, which use to cushion/ absord the vibration. The metal part is unlikely to break within short period of time (unless the driver is extremely bochap n left the problem for a long period).

But the engine will "sink" if all mounting was damaged... When that happen, the sinked engine will cause other issue.

I also planning to buy jack stand and jack ups to replace myself. haahhaa it quite a easy job once you have the service manual

Its not easy at all, this is not an amature workable task, not only jack and stands is needed, you need many different tools to make it happen.

With with necessary tools, its all depend the model of car you are driving... Unless your engine bay is huge with plenty of working area (eg Proton wira), it might be easier. Take my vios for example, it tooks 1 mech x 4 hours for the works because 1 of the mounting was blocked. Some car with very compact engine bay is worst.... with little room to work, the mech may need to dismantle a fair bit of other component in terms to replace the engine mountings.

Thats y i would suggest those who attemp to try replacing it yourself think twice.

What i usually do is use camera take video or picture about the mounting to see if there is any crack or split in the rubber. If there is, usually its time to change liao.

Whats the typical labour fee for change of engine mounts for Jap cars...

Used to be around $130 few years back. Now workshop charging about $170. +- . Should still be able to find some cheap ones.

I will be changing all my mounts for about $90 per piece for my Toyota tomorrow. This includes labour but not sure is it cheap. But anyway still cheaper than the last I changed some years back at $110 per piece.

Neutral Newbie

i finally changed my 4 engine mounting at 680 SGD inlcuding labor (genuine one). However, today I happened call a WS which said they can do it at 400SGD including labor and original one as well. I kind of cant believe it. I called a auto parts company (ming ghee I guess) and was the parts are about 550 SGD per set already..

my previous car prone to engine mounting wear ( SSS ), wad happen is ( for manual ) when you shift to from gear 1-2 and 2-3 will have some knocking sound quite mild but irritating. Engine vibration wise not so obvious, went to chia pang and they didnt think was mounting until i insisting on changing and manage to solve the problem. did my mounting at GT garage, 3 piece abt 300+ IIRC include labor. Why yours so exp? must be conti car

I also changed my mountings recently. Driving Lancer EX and mileage at 135K. The feeling is like when the air con compressor activates, you can feel the vibrations on your butt. Whole car seems to be shaking/vibrating.

Steering wheel also tends to vibrate as well.

It's really worth changing it because it enhances the comfort level of your ride. After changing, found that one of the mounts has cracked and hence, the vibrations.
