was driving along TPE/SLE just now towards Yishun. Was driving at 90km/hr and at the punggol stretch, just about to step on more gas to go faster when the corner of my eye saw the red flashing camera symbol on the GPS screen. For a moment i thot WTF?...then i quickly realise its an indication of speed camera...but i know that stretch has no fixed speed camera, so i thot maybe mounted on the overhead bridge until I thot i saw 'something' at the divider hidden between the bushes...exactly at the spot indicated by the GPS. i m not sure whether is a speed camera.

i know the GPS will indicated speed cameras which are permanent, i am not sure whether it can show impromptu speed cameras...my experience today seems to indicate so....

any bros know?

Think they put alert at locations where TP camera is commonly found.

Bro no need to guess. Just press the info button on your steering wheel and toggle to the "distance left" for an estimate on how far more your fuel can take you before it goes empty.

yep. thats the range..but the nagging concern is whether the indicator 'chun' or not.....there is one average speed indicator that is always at 20+km/hr...never move one...haha.

cheers.

As what bro Erwinseow mentioned, you can press and hold the "Info" button to reset the Average Speed and FC. The thing about Average Speed is it takes into consideration the whole range of speed your car is travelling at from reset until the next time you reset. As we don't always travel on 100% expressway, the average speed will definitely be much lower, due to traffic lights, jams, city driving, waiting for people, parking, etc.

Thanks!

I think my GPS module hidden deep inside. I opened up the glovebox as well as fuse box as suggested by bros here but visually cant see anything there. Used my hand and felt 'something' plus a ton of wiring inside..haha. scared i will mess up something inside so i think will just bring to Mazda during 1K servicing and get them to take out my SD card cos I discovered the GPS have only SG map and no Msia map...really!?!.. Also the search function on the GPS is super retarded if u ask me..hiaz.

on a side note..was cruising in tandem with a porsche yesterday on Msia highway...first time...hehe.

There is Malaysia map but you'll need to switch the map to MFM in your settings. Default is Singapore SLA map.

My first tank load was abt 11.2L /100km. I never rav beyond 2.5k RPM. From traffic light I would take off under 2k RPM and first tank load was RON98. After reading what everybody commented. My second tank load was back to my SPC Ron95

Thanks for the input ... Did some touch up, with the touch paint given by the sales lady when I get the car.

Just live with it... that is so much we can do to prevent it but there is too many idiotic ppl out there to deal with...

Maybe side molding / protection strip can help.

no fret bro. its the run in period. usually consumption are bad.

for me i let my engine experience the full range of speed during this time - slow to fast. For fast, i bring it up north to 'unleash the beast'..hehe. but only for short stretches...

for your second tank, if you drive the same way, i suspect the consumption may be worse...as our M5 engine love higher octane fuel...at least on paper...haven really test it yet...i think one of the bros here testing different octane fuel.

cheers.

Thanks bro. Wil observe and feedback. I am now at 196km on this 95 filled tank. Avg is 10.5l per 100km at the moment.

Yong Lip bro. I used to also drop to neutral cruising a smooth downhill road previously until someone advised me against it.

I found this article to share with all.

Hmm the side lip protector seems worth considering. At least won't kana dinks?

Yep. The manual also specifically advise against that...say it may damage the transaxle.

It wont not help much, I found that all my dents are on top portion of my door, I realize nowadays , most of the car door now have extrude part on the top of the door, then it  curve back on the bottom.

Yesterday, I was sitting in my car while waiting for my wife, left side door bang by one auntie opened door when she try to get in. Then 2 minutes later, right mirror bang by one father carry a kid, the kids leg knock it.

Even got driver sit inside, it is like that ....can you imagine how many dents we can received each day when we park our car ?

Haiya no choice,, no matter how careful you are, fella who park besides you might careless, worst if it is a lorry or a van !! My FC has not improve now  at 14,000 km still getting about 8.5 -9.5 km/l not really a speedster, complain to Mazda, they say 8-10km for Mazda 5 is a norm !! Using Shell 98, tried other grade and brand, seem Shell works best at 9km consistently.

For those who wanna improve fuel consumption. Here is something that I find quite useful.

Press the "INFO" button on the steering controls so that the "Current Consumption" is displayed. Use this display as a guide to train your right foot. Try to make this number as small as possible when you are driving. :)

For exaample when you are cruising... try to make this number as small as possible while maintaining speed.
