Wow... you guys are very reassuring. Really hope to get the bid today. Mazda's package nowadays is either 2 bids guaranteed or 3 bids non-guaranteed. But heard got hidden 6 bids non-guaranteed or even 8 bids non-guaranteed packages.

Last revised bid at 3.52pm was $58.8k. Just a few hundreds difference.

No worries, i believe you also on the Mazda term of they're allowed to use Open Cat to convert for your use, right?

With that, you still stand another chance of having Open Cat. Check with your SE.

Heard M5 shipment is coming in End Oct/Nov.

Yeah. My SE said she'll fight for open CAT if next bid still unsuccessful. My colleague was at Ubi showroom yesterday and he said he saw loads of M5 unloading from the trailers.

I don't think we'll be able to change it to km/l on the display. But, you can always convert it. If divide the 100km/ with the no you read, should give you km/l. e.g the display is 10.5l/100km, then you use 100/10.5 =9.5km/l.

Sigh... didn't get mine today. Got to wait another 2 weeks.

Totally understand your anxiousness, can't wait to get your hands on your new wife right? Lol! But good things come to those who are patient hehe...

Can't understand why they would have 3 bids only for non-guaranteed package...so after 3 bids unsuccessful they refund you the deposit and you go somewhere else? What's the advantage to them?

Anyway, just wanted to share my experience over the weekend looking for new rims at this shop in Ubi, which is supposed to be one of the best tyre shops around based on all their reviews in sgcarmart (this post is pretty long, but it's for the benefit of those like me who have never had experience with tyre shops). Initially the guy was really friendly, helped me to find a parking space just outside the shop instead of along the road cos he noticed my car was new and told me it was not very safe to park there. He then asked me what kind of service I was looking for, so I told him I wanted to see the rims they advertised in sgcarmart. After checking with his supplier he told me that they didn't have any stock in the shop but that I could see it at the supplier's warehouse which was 10mins drive away in Kaki Bukit. As I was in kind of a hurry I told him that I didn't have the time to go to another location, so I proceeded to look at the other rims he had at the shop.

After looking at a few other options and talking about price, he asked me again whether I would be able to go to the warehouse with him to view another set of rims which he said would look really good on my car. I was thinking that it would be better if I went there on my own, so I asked him what was the address of the warehouse, to which he replied he didn't know the exact address, only knew how to get there from the workshop. So I agreed and proceeded to my car, assuming he would accompany me in my car, but he stopped me and suggested we go in his van. Thinking that it wouldn't be a good idea to leave my car at the workshop, I told him I would follow him in my car. He said that it would be easier to for us to go in his van, because then he could load up the rims once I had chosen which one I wanted.

This was when alarm bells started to ring in my head. He was expecting me to confirm my choice once he had brought me to the warehouse, so I told him that I would only be going to see the rims. He started getting visibly flustered and told me that he didn't have time to bring me there just to see only, and that if I'm ok with the price I should just choose the rims and he will get it done for me on the spot. Once I saw through his hard sell tactic, I decided to tell him no thanks and walked away. While driving home, I realised that if I had gone with him to the warehouse in the van, he could easily have pressured me into making a purchase. He may even have gone to the extent of getting his workers to remove my wheels while I was away and claim that I had agreed to buy rims from him, otherwise why would I leave my car in his workshop and let them remove the wheels. I was relieved that I had not gotten myself into that difficult position.

This reminded me of an experience with a second hand car dealer in Turf City, where the dealer refused to return my friend's IC after we went for a test drive because he decided not to buy the car. It was not until he threatened to call the police that the dealer finally returned the IC to him, but not before making a big scene in the middle of the carpark.

This experience has taught me that no matter how good the shop is, you should be wary of any underhanded methods they might use to con you into buying something you didn't want. Sorry for going abit off topic, but I just wanted to share my experience so that others do not fall into this kind of trap. Anyone who wants to know the name of the shop can send me a PM.
