remember reading something on minimum SAE 5w30... need to dig the manual to confirm.

When I went for my 1K servicing, I checked with the engineer why they don't replace the engine oil. He told me that the car uses specially formulated Mazda Gold synthetic engine oil, and that it only needs to be changed every 10K servicing. Also he says our SkyActiv engine cannot use other brands of engine oil like Shell Ultra or Mobil 1, otherwise engine will spoil...dunno how true but that's from the horse's mouth.

normal check (look and see for abnormalities or if it's lemon) and wash your car.

Hmm if that's the case, what they do for 1k servicing if they don't change eo?

I thought it is critical to replace oil at 1k servicing to remove all the little metal deposits due to new engine n Pistons etc?

Also, need opinions from Bros here on whether your car comes with solar film installed by Mazda n if solar film is installed on the sunroof glass penal as well?

Yea, that's what i thought about 1k servicing, to replace the oil due to new engine and pistons shavings, and they are only replacing at 10k???

Sunroof i don't think mine had installed solar film, since have the sliding cover already.

Attached is the list of the items done on 1k servicing.

My solar film is installed by Mazda. Don't think they installed for sunroof too. I think all Mazda defualt is using Rikecool.

Frankly their servicing report is pretty unprofessional, like some intern drafted it for them. C&C one is much better looking, more detailed and the engineer will write down anything that was observed during the inspection. This Eurokars one didn't even bother to check the boxes, dunno whether they really got check anything anot... [sweatdrop]

Anyway I got them to replace all my leather seats during the 1K servicing because it was badly done, poor workmanship on the fitting and there were white marks on certain seats which couldn't be cleaned away even by the SE. Initially they told me it would take the whole day to change out the seats and complete the servicing, but surprisingly they called me at lunchtime to say it would be ready by 2pm...no points for guessing which part they skimped. Furthermore I think they have not enough manpower to perform servicing for so many cars (recently there's a big jump in sales, or so I'm told), so maybe they are trying to cut corners. I really hope this is not a sign of things to come, if this is the kind of servicing I paid extra $1k for additional 2yrs, think not worth it sia! [thumbsdown]

I did 5000km servicing.. more like tick in the box for them( without the tick) .. told them that the coolant was abit too low ( Just above the low level mark) told me it was normal, complain about poor Fuel consumption, I am getting abt 8.5-9km/l, again was told it was normal for Mazda 5. Waiting for 3 years to complete and do servicing outside. Totally not reliable . Most of time cut me off before I can ask further. Abit piss off with the attitude. Leather quality dont expect to last..... My previous ride Nissan Latio Elacantra/ Leather lasted 9.5 years with no issues.... I be lucky if my Mazda 5 Leather last 5 years !!

My SE informed me that this car's FC should be around 10-11km/l, so it can't be normal for your case. You can also point out to them that their advertised FC is 15.1km/l, almost double what you're getting! I'm also getting slightly below 10km/l now but I'm still running in the engine so I guess it's to be expected, but my latest tank of V-Power Nitro is giving me quite good mileage, around 430km and still got 3 more cubes on the fuel gauge.

Yeah, can't expect much from locally fitted leather I guess, but at least they should make an effort to clean off those obvious white marks...even after they changed out the leather seats, I still found the same type of marks on the new seats, meaning they didn't even bother to check it, just change for the sake of changing... :a-shoot: My previous Colt Plus factory fitted leather seats from Japan also still looks fabulous after 6yrs, only sent it in for grooming once at C&C.

Hi! May I check which servicing centre did you go to? The SE also told me that there is huge sales for mazda and the servicing centres are overflooded with service jobs. My 5K servicing took almost a day to complete.

Btw, what's your driving conditions like?(50%HW/50%city)

Overall, I'm very happy with my M5! haha....

Alamak. I have been sending to Mazda for 1k and 5k servicing and i dont received a single service report!!

I did ask before if i can bring my own engine oil for my future 10K servicing. They told me that it will void their warranty. Mazda is using a "special" engine oil.

I agreed that their leather quality is very suspiciously low grade. Mine started to show wear after only 6 months.

I got the record fc low so far on 3000km of 8.5km/l. Usually, I can can get around 9+km/l.

I'd asked the same question on FC to the service agent, he told me that M5 is rather sensitive...the engine will adjust itself to make the drive good...blah blah blah.... so...fc sometimes can be poor.... [confused][confused]

The workshop is short handed with the surge of the sales recently... hopefully, don't turn into the similar long waiting time as in VW workshop previously.

except on fc, generally, I find M5 is still a good car to drive.....

Wonder anybody has good Mazda workshop to intro???

I sent it to the Ubi showroom because that's where they can replace the leather seats. I'm driving 40% city 60% expressway.

Overall I'm also very happy with my new ride, even my wife commented on our recent drive to JB that it's a lot more spacious and comfortable than my previous one, so the trip was alot more enjoyable. For me, that is proof enough that this was a good buy haha!

I wondering any workshop will be able to fix cruise control on our M5??

How about keyless entry and stop/start button?

Stop/start button think lots of workshop can do. No clue abt keyless entry. Cruise Control is more important to me.
