Hi guys, I have been facing bad radio reception recently. I'm using the Alpine head unit that came with the car. Not too sure what is wrong? Any advice? Thank you

Wow which year is that, I think most of us are on Pioneer. If I'm not wrong, Mazda appoints Tong Lee Wee as their aftermarket installer as in my case. It should come with a Alpine manual.

Prices are reasonable workshop prices if they're using all Genuine Parts.

Engine oil OW20 is about $60/bot of 4L (Idemitsu) but workshop prices will be about 20-40% more

I have no idea if there's any original mazda engine oil in Singapore as i've yet to see one.

Engine oil Filter about $20

Labour to change Engine oil & filter is between $30-50

Mazda ATF is about $100-130/4L (Skyactiv) There's 2 variant MV (normal) & FZ (skyactiv) so please use the correct one.

Thanks for sharing

Need some expert advise:

Any recommended workshop outside for Mazda 5 car servicing that is reliable and cheap ?

Can the auto sliding door be disabled so as to allow manual sliding of the door?

You can try this workshop:

NXpress Performance Pte Ltd located @ Synergy@KB - 25 Kaki Bukit Road 4 #01-39

You can off the power for the sliding door before manually open/close them.

Thanks Cwinedine for your prompt response.

I tried off the "Power Off" button but seems like it is difficult to manually slide the door, is it normal?

Also, is it advisable to "Power Off" the auto sliding door?

Mine is Yr 2018 Mazda 5 bought in Mar 2018.  I have more queries that need advice:

a.  where to buy boot/trunk tray or net ?

b.  Car Blaupunkt dashcam can activate the video recording mode 24 hours?  cause recently, I found some scrathes on the front bonnet.

Yes, I do agree that after Power off, manual sliding requires some effort to pull open but I reckon it's normal.

A. u require only:

1. Boot mat (All 7 seats up)

2. Boot mat (5 seats up)

3. Net to prevent things from falling out when boot is open

B. Yes but you need to tap another wire to enable this, I got mine done at NXpress but do take note that Mazda will void the warranty for the dashcam.

You may like to try Monster Garage. They seemed to be specialized in Mazda cars. I did my first servicing there after free servicing in TE. Satisfied customer.

Auto sliding door can be disabled. And it will take a little strength to open and close. I prefer to leave it in auto mode.

cheers!

Any workshop recommendation to service our mazda 5 after 3 years. Didn't manage to hit the 60000km free servicing. I saw autosaver package (Base on Mazda 6) is $700 plus for 60000km servicing.

Hope to find a reliable and reasonable workshop that service our Mazda.

Thanks much

Hi bros,

I am asking about whether i should service my Mazda 5 in outside workshops, and if there are any good recommendations.

I just finished my free servicing at TEK for up to 20k, so wondering if i should service there still for next one at 30k or to do it outside. Will it void warranty if I service outside?

Any comments welcomed, thank you.

Hi SGCMiemontea,

I did my outside service after the free servicing at TEK.  Always good to save some money.

I did my 70K servicing at Monster Garage and did a auto transmission oil. Really worth it.

Hope this helps!

Happy Valentine's Day to all M5 drivers!

I couldn't take the road noise from the car anymore and decided to sound proof the wheel arcs. I was planning to do all 4 wheels but due to budget, I decided to do the front 2 wheels arcs, 2 layers.

It was a difficult decision as I wasn't confident what the outcome will be. The damage was $380 for the 2 front wheels.

This is the 2nd day of my drive and I am quite happy with it. The sound proof took away most of the rattling noise between the tires and the road. Please note that there are still noises but at least more acceptable now.

My PS4 are 2 years old.  I love them ( and many thank s to weewee1976 who share the good discount at Autobacs @ Dunearn) Hope you will read this post.

I am also on the lookout for new tires now....

That's all folks and I really hope I do not need to do anymore upgrading

ps* I love ICE and it is so dangerous to stay at the audio shop for long time.... hahahaha  [smash]

Thanks for sharing this updates but can you share what tyres were u on (I presume it's Mich PS4) and what's the size? I decided to drop the idea of of soundproofing my wheel arch after I upgraded from the stock 16inch rims with Toyo tires to 17inch rims with 205/50/17 Hankook Tyres. I thought with the upgrade, tyre noise would be more obvious but the hankook tyres were pretty quiet.

Where did you do your soundproofing? $380 seems quite steep for just the front 2 arches.

I did at Audio Solution and it was 2 layers. I accepted the price... : )

Just read your post and thanks for remembering me. So fast 2 years already and it was really a good bargain. I've changed car to CR-V already. So no chance to enjoy the PS4 to its fullest.
