Hi guys,

Greetings everybody!!!

I'm like u bro biscuit.. 2nd unsuccessful bidding..

Guess have wait next bidding..

Cheers

Haha..

Just continue to enjoy my current ride.

Start to realise that Mazda is pretty conservative in their bidding for CAT B rides, and they are not pressured to clear their backlog.

Anyway, just see how it goes since I have locked in at a decent price, nothing to complain but to continue waiting..

Cheers

Hi guys, i have been driving the mazda 5 skyactiv for a few months now. I find the braking performance lacking despite changing to 17" rims with Michelin Pilot Sports 3 tires.

Can anyone advise how to improve braking performance?

Thanks

Change to higher temp brake pads.

If still cannot, upgrade to big brake kit.

Will higher temp brake pads be useful coz our mazda 5 poor braking is not exactly due to brake fading from high temp. Esp on the jam express way there was a few times that almost could not stop in time and i did not tail gate.

Anyone else experiencing the same?

Higher temp aftermarket brake pads are of different compound, and will have better brake bite.

Usually this is the basic brake upgrade and also stainless steel brake hoses to eliminate poor braking.

From what I remembered during the test drive, the braking seems okay as I also have high expectations for brake system.

If the above mentioned done already can't fulfil your needs, go for big brake kits.

BTW, what is your previous ride?

Actually white is not exactly hard to maintain, Even i'm on open air carpark most of the time.

just to wash car when it gets dirty/dusty or after rain and everything is fine, I've done glass sealant protection when I got it. After 3 years still maintaining well and I get satisfaction after car wash for white as it looks sparkly bright and clean after wash.

For black and other dull colours, after cleaning also almost same feel and look,  not much satisfaction after wash.

Hi Zilojian, where did you go for glass sealant protection and how much did it cost? Is it advisable the do paint protection. So many PPS in the market, not sure which is good.

Assuming that you have sold your car at a higher price compared to the trade in price they offer you, I would think it make sense to just take taxi or rent a car temporarily which you are mentally well prepared right at the point of purchase.

Alternatively, check with your SE any Open CAT COE available with top-up.

I believe your SE would be able to negotiate with the Boss as you have purchased it at $108,888.

No harm asking if you are urgent.

Cheers

Biscuit, would you know roughly how much am I looking at for top up?

Any thoughts on topping up?

Hurry, after changing to 17inch do you find the steering wheels vibrating? I am warned against doing so.

I guess it all boils down to your budget and how high is your expectations.

There are people who just go for DIY wax and the end results is good enough for them.

For myself, I'm very particular of the gloss level for all my current and previous black cars.

I will send for regular grooming by professionals every 9 months besides my own DIY car wash and spray detailing and park under shelter.

For my Dad's white Toyota, which is done by me DIY using just Turtle Wax, the gloss is easily attained as compared to Black cars based on my experience.

There are some who simply don't wax and just normal wash.

4-5 years later, just go for a respray.

Pps too many in the market.

Just go to their FB site and PM them for quotes.

Browse through their photos and digest what they have shared on their jobs done.

Go for the one you are comfortable with.

Honestly, I really don't know for Mazda.

You really need to call your SE and check.

As my current car is due to 9th Year on end April, I can still hold on for another 2 bids before asking for top-up.

My SE is clearly aware of my situation.

Set yourself a limit how much more you are comfortable and also depending if they have any Open CAT COE in their safe.

Vibrations is caused by poor balancing of the tyres.

Nothing to do with bigger size wheels.

Now that u mentioned. Yes dull slight vibrations felt when speed past 90kmh.

I think its the wheel balancing that is off...

How will bigger rims affect vibrationx

my SE just asked if i want to top-up $2k for 1 bid guaranteed. I declined.

You mean your SE asked you when you signed the deal?

Or asked you after your failed bid?
