hitlerson21 Clutched February 26, 2016 Share February 26, 2016 I also experienced the steering wheel pulling to one side and informed them at Ubi during my 1k servicing. On top of that, I also feedback sometimes I'll here a "thud" sound when going over hump. The mechanic went out with me for a ride and took note of my complaints. Thereafter all my complaints were rectified by rotating the wheels (which I find it strange but somehow it solved the problem. Just wondering whether it'll come back again during my next rotation) and retightening the undercarriage. i had the same problem and all 3 servicings i have feedback to have it rectify. It was ok after that. but after some time, the steering wheel went back to pulling to one side. it seems like a permanent problem to me. anyone has any idea on how to fix this. My previous cars all have this issue so i perceived we have to get stuck with this issue.
YongLip Clutched February 26, 2016 Share February 26, 2016 Yes. Is in fact normal for the car to pull either left or right as the roads have a slight gradient for drainage. Whats not so normal is when 1. there is a pull even when the road is flat 2. steering wheel does not return itself quickly and accurately to straight ahead position after coming out of a turn. 3. steering wheel overly sensitive to bumps/humps on the road. i have booked another service appointment to fix what I suspect is mainly a Caster/alignment problem. Will get them to check the toe and camber while there also. Will report back when service done. cheers.
Mr_biscuit 3rd Gear February 26, 2016 Share February 26, 2016 Please beware that over-inflating your tyres is not advisable. Do not compromise safety in exchange for better FC.

Mr_biscuit 3rd Gear February 27, 2016 Share February 27, 2016 (edited) Is 250 considered over inflating? Thank youMaybe there is a sticker at the driver's door to show the recommended tyre pressure? I'm not sure for Mazda 5 as I've not collected my ride yet. IMO, anything more than 230kpa is over-inflate. There is a tag at the driver's door side panel. 240kPa front and 280kPa rear if you have 4 or more passengers. 220kPa for front and back if you carry less than 4. For me, I follow the 240kPa and 280kPa configuration.
Ivan_06 5th Gear February 28, 2016 Share February 28, 2016 My 1k servicing, they pumped 340 for me as well...I only realised it when I did my weekly tire pressure check. on my 10k servicing, they do not pump at all. I was on 240 for the front and 280 for the rear due to full load traveling to north right before the servicing. I found out on the weekly pressure check as well... :) wah..good good....just curious...1 pax or full load? tire pressure? 340!!!! Imagine the Tyre bursting at high speed cruising... The maximum pressure a Tyre can take is around 300+... If cold types, 340, hot types can't imagine... Guys please check your tyre pressure after servicing. YongLip Clutched March 1, 2016 Share March 1, 2016 Sent the car in today for wheel alignment at UBI in the morning. Learnt my lesson and this time round, specifically told them to check the camber/caster/toe. Was informed later that caster OK, adjustment was done for toe and camber (minor). Understand alignment is not done in house. Car ready at around 3. Now the handling is great again. Had they do the alignment during my first service, no need for a second trip down. That said, must still give them credit for service recovery la. Cheers.

Unless you change to adjustable camber bolts (I done mine with Kenny Wheel Alignment @ AMK Autopoint), then it's possible; and camber setting do not affect your steering swaying issues. For any future wheel alignment done, always request for before and after alignment results slip.
YongLip Clutched March 1, 2016 Share March 1, 2016 haha..i just hear whatever they tell me. I am not an expert in camber/toe/caster...i just watch tons of videos on alignment recently to try and understand my problem better and to be able to comms with the service guys. I had also thought caster is the culprit but they tell me caster OK. Like another forummer here, it is also entirely plausible they just rotate the wheels and handling problems solved. The bottomline is whatever they do or did not do, it solved the problem. Handling is as sharp as the first day I got the car. That to me is the most important thing. What puzzles me though is that the alignment is outsourced and not done in house. weird. I am just glad my warranty is 3 years nia,..i prefer to just drive into a generic workshop whenever there is problem with the car and the mechanic will just drop everything he is doing and listen to your problems,..thereafter parts are ordered and replaced. Now, the car is dropped off at the service centre and goes into a 'black box' and once finished just collect at the end of the day,..what was done to it....can only take the service staff at face value nia.. cheers. Shawntcl 1st Gear March 5, 2016 Share March 5, 2016 (edited) Currently looking at a 5+2 compact mpv below 120k. Therefore narrowed down to Kia Carens Crdi and M5. Tested Mazda 5 yesterday. Like the 6+1 seating arrangement, sliding doors, decent pick up, more spacious 3rd row. Dislike the dated interior / exterior, lack of features like keyless entry. Asked the SE, he said that there will be a facelift coming up 2017? Thought I rem seeing news that Mazda 5 is going to stop production and no replacement model coming up. This Mazda 5 has undergone a facelift back in 2014 with signal indicators on side wing mirrors, and Skyactiv engine to replace the previous engine. I doubt there will be anymore facelift to be done on this 5 year old model.

As far as the news is concerned, they're discontinuing the production for US/UK/Europe market. No official news for Asia market as yet. Generally, compact MPV are not really selling well in those markets. New facelift 2017? I'm not sure about that. The last time I talked to SE was in Aug last year. http://www.autoreleasespecs.com/2016/01/2017-mazda-5-release-date-specs.html this rumour?
