Buying a Superb, any advice?

saw a few 2010/2011 superb on sgcarmart, any thing to look out for? heard about the gearbox problem anything else?

One dry dsg is good enough to drive you crazy, need no others.

 

 

If can accept, then nothing will be too daunting to you anymore.

how to tell / test ? I understand the gearbox oil need to be replaced more often than most other cars, but any way to check the gearbox ?

two issue u need to know first

 

1) 7 speed dry

 

2) NO OFFICIAL SKODA AGENT NOW = no warranty

need to have balls... if DSG (dont shift gear) starts giving problem.. good luck. esp no agent support nor warranty.

I think the newer superbs (the 2.0 version, not the 1.8one) uses the 6spd DSG.

 

Skoda changed the DSGs on their superb for a few yrs.

So check which DSG its on... =D

 

But yes, the lack of warranty should be a consideration.

ok, no wonder they are going cheap.... understand no warranty but I am sure there is a fix to the 7 DSG, any 1.8 owner can share their experience?

2010/2011, now 2014, even got agent also out of warranty

I have been there and tried their servicing and products/service.

 

Very professional though the charges are a bit premium.

So how's the DSG "calibration"? Really remove the juddering?

 

Of course premium. I heard the workshop boss used to be the AD(Audi) workshop manager. He knows the pricing well. LoL...
