ck16 Neutral Newbie May 31, 2014 Share May 31, 2014 you can call them up and ask, sometime is they refund back to agent and agent keep it and never refund back to you, so you better call them to check, if they haven't make any refund, ask them to refund back directly to you

ck16 Neutral Newbie June 1, 2014 Share June 1, 2014 Brother Six more month exactly. But still no outcome. This is normal ? Thanks and Regards. Bro, call them up to check on weekday, you have to make noise with them and they will get things done fast. If not they just take their own sweet time. Kingkong 5th Gear June 1, 2014 Share June 1, 2014 (edited) Yup nothing beats giving them a call to check, and make noise if need be. 6 months should be able to get refund. Done that a few times and no problem at all. Edited June 1, 2014 by Kingkong

Shibadog Turbocharged June 1, 2014 Share June 1, 2014 check ur insurance... i think there are limit on the refund.. if less than certain month remaining, no refund... maybe urs fall into this category.. yup. Mine also had no refund cos I made a windscreen repair (not replacement).... TL to the max windscreen repair cost less than 1 mth of my insurance premium. they say upfront that windscreen repair will not affect NCD but in T&C small print say it is still considered a claim, thus no refund for early termination cemented my view that motor insurance industry in Singapore is a scam.

Anshng Clutched June 2, 2014 Share June 2, 2014 Btw just to highlight to you guys not to buy any car insurance from AIG I just terminated mine and they never give me full refund of the prorated premiums They say they retain 20% of the premium because i never get a replacement policy from them! What nonsense! So next time once you start AIG you have to also continue with them else they will eat your premium. THis was never highlighted to be before Is this normal for those who have terminated their premium before? Please pass the word around
Tommisan 4th Gear June 2, 2014 Share June 2, 2014 Bill29, How did you do the cancellation, by yourself or through the dealer? If you cancel it on your own, just call up the motor insurance department of your insurer to follow-up on the case. If the dealer did it, you have to be certain that he did. My dealer did not submit the necessary documents to facilitate the insurance cancellation and I had to do it on my own. After which, I received my refund within 2 weeks via the insurance agent. Bill29 1st Gear June 2, 2014 Author Share June 2, 2014 Brother, I cancel on my own. I have called them with regard how to go around. Instruction was to send them back the Original and the New Policy which I bought before they can cancel the old policy. I did exactly as per the instruction given. Just don't understanding why the process is so long. Maybe China Taiping can advise ? Would you buy from them if their after sale service is such ? Thanks and Regards

Mos_rex Clutched June 3, 2014 Share June 3, 2014 Chase the agent that sell you the insurance. I had my car insured with Great Eastern but through an agent so when i sold my car and ask the agent to cancel, as usual ask me for the relevant documents (sale agreement/LTA letter etc.) and will process the cancellation. Before cancellation, made the calculations and will be refunded around few hundreds bucks. After 4-5 months, no news on the insurance refund to the extend that i personally go to Great Eastern office in Pickering Street and enquire why it took so long to refund my insurance premium. To my surprise, i was told that the insurance agent did not cancel my car insurance and it was still running (4-5 months after i sold the car) and the Customer Service then assist me with the cancellation. The matter somewhat pissed me off and i called the insurance agent and demanded an explanation. He gave excuse that the insurance was bought from another agent and he had informed the other agent to cancel it blah blah blah. To make thing short, i kept pestering the agent daily for my premium refund and finally after around 6 months plus i got the refund cheque in my mail. Lesson learnt, buy direct from the insurance company and not rely on the insurance agents... ↡ Advertisement
