My car just got banged in the carpark.

a nice Samaritan wrote me a note indicating the time and the number plate of the car that banged me.

 

what should i do next?

Make police report. If you got video of the accident a workshop will be keen to repair your car and help you claim 3rd party.

 

Got risks hor. The other bugger may not even report insurer, uninsured, not authorised to drive etc.

To TS, did the kind person drop his contact number to you? If yes contact him to be your witness and proceed to make police report and file claim against that car

hit and run in a cp is not a crime.

victim cannot claim from the 3rd party unless the other party admit his mistake in writing. the workshop will advise you to folk out from your pocket to repair even you have a witness becos they have seem many witness gave up attending court after few postphone.

Usually hit and run consider sway and just pay for the repair yourself. Seldom hear people can successfully claim the other party even there is witness.

 

Even during normal road accident, many times even you know it is the fault of other party but most of the time the verdict will be 50-50!

If want to report than do it within 24hr. If the guy hit and run, I doubt he has integrity to tell the fact when insurance coy contact him.
