Atrecord Supersonic August 15, 2014 Share August 15, 2014 Last night, a few of us had the privilege of inspecting Z234user's 2014 Noah including a ride. Thank you! Wonderful MPV (though the wife wasn't as enthusiastic when I told her its much larger than our current MPV)! Now I have three options: 1. Noah - most costly option 2. A new facelifted Isis (thanks to Duckduck for the link) - hurts the wallet lesser, still a great car 3. Extend the COE on my current Isis - manageable got pics of interior or not? best if got an adult sitting inside to give some idea of the space leh... ↡ Advertisement
Atrecord Supersonic August 15, 2014 Share August 15, 2014 Kid vomit. Leather wins cloth ... If got young kids, there is also danger of milk/drinks stains if using milk bottle. Leather will feel hotter than fabric on initial contact, but it (leather) also loses (or gain) heat faster. If your car is leather and under hot sun for a while already, when you first sit on it, it's gonna burn, but the heat goes away after a while if A/C is on. On the other hand, fabric under the same condition, still has trapped heat inside and this can linger on for quite a while more… So you'll feel more of the furnace effect lasting longer for fabric than leather. This is what a workshop supervisor of Tan Chong said to me 10+ yr ago, when i went there for servicing. He said when he goes out for lunch everyday, the trapped heat makes him fall ill more often… so he went to change to leather...

samfreak 3rd Gear August 15, 2014 Share August 15, 2014 have you seen the facelifted isis? if its the same.. might as well renew your current isis. still the cheaper option if no major repairs. you need to consider your mileage at year 20. the good thing about renew coe now is that you can get back cash anytime you scrap. your loss is limited to the prorated usage and the PARF that you lost on the isis at year 10. so if the parf isnt too much it makes sense to renew and see how the coe goes. No, have not seen the f/l Isis. Based on photos, the changes I can see are: - instrument cluster - steering wheel design (looks like leather) - start/stop button - keyless entry - front grille - wing mirrors - valvematic engine? - extra compartment next to front cabin light If I scrap at end of 10 years, I get back $14,300. Its a battle between the heart and the mind and between the Noah and Isis. got pics of interior or not? best if got an adult sitting inside to give some idea of the space leh... No pix. But its built for sumo wrestlers, no doubt. And, according Crown Motors (HK), also young ballerinas and hula hoopers.

Have you considered a used Honda stepwgn? Size is abt the same as Noah. The 2.0L ivtec engine is a gem. My wife is driving it as a family car. Exterior size is no wider than a Stream, it is just taller.

It's much more powerful, spacious n has rear aircon. Only problem was worry about parts...

I think the 3rd row is also a bench - don't know why designers do this. Fold this one away and you end up with strictly two rows of seats only! Settled for the Isis and it has served me well for 9 years now. I see the 2014 version is no longer digital instruments but the 3rd row is still a bench. So, not interested. But thanks for the suggestion. Edited August 16, 2014 by samfreak

If need luggage space, just slide the 3rd row forward, still can sit kids.

But then too bad even PI also not bringing it in.

The Noah's boot space even with the 3rd row down is HUGE! The lastest Stwpwgn has 3rd row that is splitted and can be folded into the floor like Odyssey. But the Honda brand does not speak to me also, so that's another barrier.

Edit: I believe the spare wheel is sacrificed for this fancy feature. But I would have gladly traded mine for this nice feature. But those who like to go for North might not think so.
