Calford 2nd Gear August 2, 2014 Share August 2, 2014 Today ST says got new look Kia Sorento unveiling next month...sneak pic looks good. Hope they launch it here with their new mpv... I like MPV not SUV. But my wife like SUV not MPV haha. I should be getting my next ride in 2015-2016. I am not sure how Toyota Isis is. It is bigger then my stream and has sliding door. I like Noah but more expensive. ↡ Advertisement
samfreak 3rd Gear August 2, 2014 Share August 2, 2014 Sales man from M9 Automobile at Ubi Ave Auto Megamart called me on Fri that new Isis is in for view. The 'new' Isis appears similar to the ones we see here. I like the car (other than the large A pillars) and would get it again if its a new generation. Porche 5th Gear August 2, 2014 Share August 2, 2014 You r like me.I also change from verna to carens. From 0 to 100k mileage till today, still have not change anything yet except one headlight bulb & brakepad.(oil change servicing excluded) Low on maintence,FC 9 to 9.5km/l.Cabin is quiet which i like but boot space is basically nothing with 3-row up.But can put a cargo net to overcome it so things dont drop when boot open. Just go for it. Me too, change from verna to Sienta. Better fc
Streamium70 2nd Gear August 3, 2014 Share August 3, 2014 saw the Isis @ M9 on Fri afternoon. Basically it is the same as the current Isis but with some minor facelift. Saw the Noah as well. Very very spacious compared to my current wish. Looks wise is super super boxy. cant really tahan the boxy looks.

He ask me to go for Honda Freed first. I don't need that space yet (with 2 very young kids). Spoke to Raymond from Yong Lee Seng, he said the same think too. Freed is low cost to maintain and the best MPV in space and in terms of resale in the future (Cat A). Well true should start small.

Sedona is aka grand carnival in this part of the world right? wonder when it's gonna be available... saw the Isis @ M9 on Fri afternoon. Hyundai8818 3rd Gear August 4, 2014 Share August 4, 2014 You are absolutely right! I asked new car agents, they even said scrapped value with few hundred.. to take back. Yes, my car loan has been cleared, the only running cost is the fuel and road tax, may be with some servicing jobs if I "tong" till 8 more months. So are you getting a new/ used car soon? Precisely, they only take in scrapped cost + few hundred if you get from a new car agents... Just viewed the car, cmi :( It's Citroen C4 Grand Picasso. The engine was vibrating and rough when the car was still with gear engaged. I love the panaromic wind screen, any opinion if this car is reliable? if getting back mpv, most probably will get picnic as it is similiar size to my trajet also the depreciation is similiar to stream/wish Much bigger with aircon for all rows, looks wise, quited dated, but most important it is more practical

Hyundai8818 3rd Gear August 4, 2014 Share August 4, 2014 Still got new picnic available? Or only used cars? I meant to say get a used picinic to drive for 2 years, and hopefully COE drops to much lower level for getting a new car. Infact, I like the Noah, alot of features and understand that it is sharing alot of parts withe new RAV4 and Harrier etc... so spare parts will not be a issue. The Noah Twin which is the Voxy even more sporty and chio , google it. Hopefully more and more PI brings both in and we as buyers have many choices Best is Borneo also join in :), let them squeeze each other balls and we benefits from it Right now, they are the one squeezing us :( cheers

samfreak 3rd Gear August 4, 2014 Share August 4, 2014 I don't think have much changes. But bigger then my current Stream (due 2018) How is the ride. Its an MPV - so don't expect excitement. But it is a low maintenance car. Very good FC - typically around 12km/L. As I mentioned earlier, I don't like the A-pillars. They are large and do block your view. Got to be extra careful. I'd struggle to pay for a facelifted Isis to replace my current 9 year old Isis. I'd have the Isis right at the top of my shortlist if there's a new generation. But if its just a facelift, maybe I should just extend the COE on mine.

But old picnic reliable or not? Maybe I can consider such option too. But I've not tried Picnic before - is the third row spacious, or still barely make it? http://kakaku.com/kuruma/used/ranking/?UCBodyTypeCD=2 used MPV popularity index frm a jap site. honda nissan toyota top 3 not surprising second one is what car? Picnic is consider full size MPV, 2nd and 3rd rows have aircon which is nice 3 rows seating are "real" seats, not like squatting on the floor under the boot, you have storage space, which is nice as well looks wise, nothing special, Overall, it is a very practical MPV which you can carry 7 pax comfortably also it is a 2L car, so road tax is not to high. When you buy a MPV, first most important thing is ability to carry more then 5 pax and the passengers comfort.
Duckduck Turbocharged August 5, 2014 Share August 5, 2014 second one is what car? Serena? Don't see it here right? think so duno y tan chong doesnt bring in. SG car mkt is really lousy as many models arent brought in compared to HK where almost all models from each brand are imported there. the ADs here are really complacent
