Yuguangr 2nd Gear May 27, 2014 Share May 27, 2014 Test Drove all the choices above. Out of which, me and my wife preference is Toyota Wish. But will be going to test drive Odyssey also. But most probably in the end will go with wish as the odyssey is too ex.

Starting this thread to share our findings and perhaps there may be enough like minded brothers out there for a group buy, with stronger bargaining powers since unity and numbers are strength : ) First off, anyone seriously considering the following : 1. Toyota Wish 2. Chevy Orlando 3. Mazda Biante 4. Opel Zafira Driving Wish and test drove Biante and Orlando 1.8 not 1.4T. Best in space Biante, followed by Wish and Orlando. If u can, go for Biante as it can seat 8 people with rear aircon. Orlando 3rd row is cramped in terms of headroom due to sloping roof. Power wise Biante and Wish are similar. Cannot comment on Orlando as never driven 1.4T version. Edited May 27, 2014 by Coolpica

I have more than a year to go on my current ride, so hoping for the best, but likely to with the more economical, in terms of cost price and recurrent costs. Powxus 3rd Gear May 27, 2014 Share May 27, 2014 I am also looking into buying an MPV after my COE expire. I am looking into either the Wish or Mazda 5. I am considering Mazda 5 rather than the Biante as it cost $20k less.

Price wise is also competitive.... the only gripe , Its a PI car but remember the Wish n Stream,Estima that flooded our market? All of those also fr PI 1. Which PI are you recommending? 2. What if the hen you bought never lay egg? It is misleading to lure customers with this tactic as it is clear this model will not sell volume like those cars. Going PI route is a calculated risk that one has to decide for himselF, much like buying VW cars. You buy with opened eyes and prepare to accept whatever cometh.

Heartlander Turbocharged May 28, 2014 Share May 28, 2014 (edited) I all the while think very highly of Serena, too bad AD not offering it. It has whatever Biante to offer and more, like the movable centre armrest cum seat that can move between first row and 2nd row to create isle when needed. Very clever. Also the sunroof if it is important to you. I very objective one, not that I buy I will say it is the best. Biante also sure can't flip the rear row up but it has other positive attributes too. Enjoy the pictures. Edited May 28, 2014 by Heartlander

Up to u to source...if u have the cash, y not import it urself... im just talking abt the car...gd reviews and latest Toyota tech in terms of gearbox and engine... n those who ever owned a Toyota...u can at least be sure of its reliability to a certain extent.... if u insist on talking abt sales volume, then ive got nothing to argue coz certain gd cars also didnt sell well in volumes for eg Infiniti, Honda Stepwagon, Elysion, Voxy, but at least we know these r actually gd cars... Anyways... enjoy urself with the MPV that u choose.... Drive safe

Anyways... enjoy urself with the MPV that u choose.... Drive safe I have this reservation because I read somewhere about a Elysion/Stepwgn owner getting into some trouble because very difficult to get spare parts. Not good to live in constant fear. Also it would be too daunting to import ourselves, easy to talk but not easy to do, definitely not for average consumer lah. If you are talking about importing through a PI, then isn't getting ourselves into more trouble? Good cars are to be enjoyed, not to worry over. But if always have to worry over spare parts, then how to enjoy? At least VW cars can still drive most of the time, except for unlucky few. All got no sliding door ... try getting out of the 3rd row, with & without sliding door ... If you got kids you need to belt up ... a sliding door gives you better access ... Just sharing Biante got 2 powered sliding doors leh. ↡ Advertisement
