Awboonboon Neutral Newbie May 17, 2014 Share May 17, 2014 either the window motor has spoilt, or the cable is loosed or snapped. Do get a window specialist to diagnose.

TVT Supercharged August 11, 2014 Share August 11, 2014 Hahaha. Yes! No one knows what's wrong with it. Have you checked the motor? Or something inside is jamming it ? Power window have only a few parts. Switch, cable, motor, level mechanism.....tot it should be easy to pinpoint the cause.
Keefe 1st Gear August 11, 2014 Share August 11, 2014 After battery change or ECU reset, the power window module needs reprogramming. After starting the car, wind down the window by holding the down button + 1-2 sec after the action is complete. Do the same for winding up. The auto up/down will be activated again. If all four windows have auto up/down, then repeat for every door.
Optramagnum 6th Gear August 11, 2014 Share August 11, 2014 I just changed mine last month. It failed me at JB custom, when wanna chop passport! Darn wrong timing.. $130 for motor, $115 for regulator, $65 for labor. I guess it's a common wear N tear, esp driver side. Try spraying some WD40 at the fringe on glass window and and those rubber, it will reduce the suction effect when u wanna use esp after parked long hours in hot sun. Mine is can't wind up after I power it down one late night last year. So I had to park overnight @ MSCP and drove to WS the next day, all with the driver side window down...... Luckily it didn't rain that day or else....
Anjoy 1st Gear August 12, 2014 Author Share August 12, 2014 (edited) After battery change or ECU reset, the power window module needs reprogramming. If all four windows have auto up/down, then repeat for every door. Mine is a miata so the windows (2 doors only so 2 windows) will normally drop a little as I retract the roof but as one side of the window isn't working down, so I dare not retract the roof. My question is now the driver side is fine but the passenger side, not. Cannot move up/down, at all. So can I still try your method? The problem is that I tried moving the window. It moved down a little (maybe 3cm) then stopped. Can't move up/down anymore. So I do not want to risk having to park the car with a window half down. I went to several miata workshops and they cannot find the root for the cause and it's been very frustrating. Your adivce please.
