Last time when growing up, my mom and granny will boil liang teh for my dad every weekend using some dark leaves and whatnot. My mom says she now try to find the ingredients in the wet market, nobody sell already. Anyone knows where can buy? Now so hot, want to boil some to down the heatiness, don't want those commercially brewed ones.

have lah, but normally will be packed nicely type, not those they scope up from basket type. It's the purplish sugar cane teck jia and leaves that is difficult to find.

For ease of preparation, just crack 2 lou han guo and add some dried dark leaves...

Hypersonic

So many types of liang teh. Chrysanthemum tea (not can/bottle but those that you boil yourself), 罗汉果, barley water, 竹蔗茅根, etc... all good. Don't always have to stick to just one type.

Just go medicinal hall and ask them. They also have more "powerful" herbs to cool the body.

Ya it's the leaves she say cannot find. Will bring back a lot of good memories if can boil the traditional way again.

Thanks all.

These are flowers. What we call the Chinese Ribena. Just go to any Chinese medical hall and ask for the "ribena flower" They will ask you how many packets you want. You can order this drink from Ding Tai Feng too if you are too lazy to cook it.

TS, I've been buying 'Monk's Fruit Loquat Herbal Tea' - a packet of combined dry TCM herbs from Hock Hua. Unable to decipher the Chinese words but could see Mulberry leaves, Teck Chia (skinny sugarcane) Luo Han Kuo, Green colored 'grass' & Hae Ko Chou, etc.

Another similar one is from ZTP.

Add a handful of Hangzhou Chrysanthemums to either brand & boil for 45 mins. Natural sweetness comes from the Luo Han Kuo.

Cooling enough to counteract the heatiness from consuming too much durians and the present hot weather.
