Since sep 2014 my fuel comsumption has been ard 13.2l/km using Esso. This month i have changed to Caltex and so far my fuel consumption is around 13.8l/km. Honestly speaking diesel is so much cheaper than petrol that i don't really bother. The important thing is with Caltex, my car feels more responsive and the engine sound is much smoother.

Do you guys find the D2 slow? being a diesel with a limited torque band?

Not sure if I'm right but your definition of slow may be quite true.

Diesel have better torque but slow in picking up speed.

There's one time on a wide stretch, it took me quite a while to go from 100km/hr to 130km/hr at 2100 revs.

After 130km/hr car seems a drag to move anymore but it does not feel slow because the torque seems to keep pushing the car forward.

Also noticed that because of the torque, diesel tends to maintain the speed better as in when you lift your foot off gas pedal.

The other thing is Volvo tends to be a heavier car than others, so may be another factor.

shortlisting V40, V40CC and S60, all D2. What can I ask SA to throw in? PM me if not convenient to list out openly. Was told in-camera not recommended as it may "violate warranty" if wire run inside car? If dangling wires not nice leh.

contradicting there i must say.

if a engine is loaded with torque, pick up will be good.

but in a drag race it will lose out to petrol due to its short power bandwidth.

1. try turn off aircon 5 mins before reaching destination and set blower to high/max

to try and blow dry the insides to prevent bacterial growth that cause smell.

do not use any air freshener as they can be the cause as well.

2. request Wearnes to seal off the outside air intake/inlet.

had the same issue with Ford Focus and that's what the AD did,

just just a piece of plastic to block the inlet to ensure minimal exhaust will leak in.

Yah, turn off aircon few minutes to let to the cold air condensation dry up will help.

In my previous car, normal freshener seem not working on foul smell until I used this brand.

$120k is V40 bah, not CC

V40 D2 is currently going for $120K, non guaranteed and must take 5 years loan at 2,6% interest.
