Eyke, maybe you can contact my SE Claire, mention my name Joe and she could give you a better price and package. I got my v40 D2 in Sep 14 and it comes with Rike Cool solar film, retractable side mirror, full TFT screen and daytime running lights at an additonal cost of $5k totalling $137k with COE at $60k.

good deal, hope coe drop further.

hi baddabing thank you for your feedback. Reckon you are very glad with your final choice on the CC , how has the experience been after owning it all this while? Im still waiting for the car to arrive.

thank you

3 months of driving and F/C has stabilised around 17km/l without actually trying very hard. Note that I am using 225/50/R18 tires instead of the stock 17", I get more feel of the road with this setup but makes for a slightly more rattle when going over uneven surfaces; this is a worthwhile trade-off.

The safety features are excellent, lane departure warning/ lane keeping aid really does help, but I have turned off the steering aid and only kept the steering wheel vibration warning activated. A minor irritant is that the city safety feature slams on the brakes when I try to nudge towards barricaded entries, that you can either deactivate the feature or just move slow enough that the feature does not activate.

Otherwise it has been a joy to drive, excellent interior, the speaker system is top notch. And the moon-roof is a definite plus, just don't apply solar films that has too dark a tint to it. I made that error and [furious]

but moon-roof tint not dark enough.. wouldn't it be an oven in a hot day? unless you always drive at night..

Neutral Newbie

Hi all, i just collected my cross country D2, nice car, the build quality feels good. The moonroof/sunroof is tinted enough so that you dont feel any discomfort from the sun during afternoon drives. With regards to the comment that it does not come with folding mirrors; I do have folding mirrors though, it came as standard.
Overall a very nice driving experience and the fuel consumption is excellent. Some niggles however;
1. The roofline is on the low side due to its sporty profile. I'm 6-foot-1 and already hit my head a couple times getting in and out
2. The power socket is by the side where the cup holders are, its a pity as I need to run the GPS power cable past the dashbard -> down the floating console -> past the gear shift to get to the power socket. Wish they had one on the dash itself, less cable-travel
3. Rear seat legroom behind me is virtually non existent when I'm driving. Let's face it; this is a hatchback, not an SUV by any means.

All these aside, I still look forward to driving this car each time; from the super comfortable seats to the plush steering wheel and interesting digital speedometer, overall it's a winner for me.
Yes it's not a perfect car, but i did not buy a Rolls Royce either.

Standard for V40 CC, not standard for V40.

Hi Diver72, I got around the power socket limitation by buying extensions, I run the wiring from the socket in the armrest console and behind the driver and front passenger seats. The rest of the wiring can be hidden under the door seals. With this setup I can connect my car cam and GPS, the only drawback is that the extension plug is beside both front seats, but with a bit of innovative thinking you can pretty much hide most of the wiring out of side.

Thank you for your recommendation Baddabing, will go back and re-look this, together with some black tape. If only the media screen came with GPS integrated, less dash clutter.

went to bobo showroom chk out v40 D2 recently. car handling good, pickup to 80-90kph good (nvr exceed spd lim a lot). speaker sys good, seats comfy (not sure if smallish interior will compromise comfort for long dist travellin). safety features top notch even for std version.

not so good - headroom for 1.7_m at rear left 2-3 fingers, leg rm 6-7 fingers, best for 2 pax instead of 3, entry variant all lighting traditional bulbs incl DRL, small boot, svc at 300+ for 15, 30, 45 k km, below 1k for 60k major svc, small centre screen unless pay to upgrade, avg looking 16" rims unless pay to upgrade, min loan 80k for 5 yrs at 2.6% (??? - sound like "hi loan", given car selling price at promo), take in current ride at near paper value.

Hi Knoobie,

Visible light spectrum only contributes a small amount to cabin heating. IR rejection is far more important.

And no I am not a vampire.

To all V40 D2 drivers, do any of you encounter the radiator fan still running for about 10minutes after the engine has been turn off and ignition key removed? It happen to me twice and not sure whether is it normal.
