Jamesc Hypersonic May 7, 2014 Share May 7, 2014 I think most cars can. Had to squeeze two baby seats and another 2 more adult passengers into a hyundai getz before. The person in the middle will feel alittle cramped. But that car is a bit exceptional. Its looks small from the outside but the inside is very spacious. Many people are always surprised how much space the back has. ↡ Advertisement
Atrecord Supersonic May 7, 2014 Share May 7, 2014 you would have solved the problem if you had a car with 3point belt for the middle seat. wife can then sit on the left or right side. If it works in a liana, any other car will have more space. Atually we put one car seat in the middle, using the 2-pt safety belt, which wasn't extremely safe, of course. But i think that one was rear-facing and therefore longer, while the other one, is shorter, but taller. For the rear-facing one in the middle, it was touching the back of the front seats, that kind of kept it secured... Confirmed that was a very uncomfortable ride for wife. Maybe it was the size of the child seats, but we thought it was cos most mid-sized cars would struggle to hold 2 car seats plus one adult side by side. We thought only the 2-litre cars might afford more width, therefore more room. I'm surprised that Iiana can do that, actually. What i'm sure, though, is that Nissan Sunny, which we had a while before that, was the same width, so it would have given the same problem.
Ahseng 5th Gear May 7, 2014 Author Share May 7, 2014 So I gather that it's the size of the car seat matters more than the type of the car, as some bros have succeeded even in a getz. I'm asking cos my altis gonna expire next year and planning another child at same time. I die die need a boot to put work related stuff. So even if I get an Mpv the last two seats will almost be permantely folded up so no point right?
Cracker 1st Gear May 8, 2014 Share May 8, 2014 I was still driving a sedan when I have 2 kids... 2 child seats on the left and right...with my wife sitting in between. of cos size matters...lolx. but changed to a Honda stream when we were expecting our 3rd. for child booster, pls check the kid meet the height requirement.....this is safety of our children that we are talking about. actually I am surprised or sad there r still many parents refusing to place their kids on child seat or booster. Sometime or many a time traffic light junction, can see adults playing with the baby abt 2 or 3 yrs old.... or seeing 4 or 5 yrs old kid moving ard in the rear seat... the most shocking one was few sunday ago... at a traffic junction.. there was a car on my left who was ahead of me.... the driver window was wind down... and then saw sth popping out... it was a toddler head... seem like it was sitting on the driver lap.. and pop out his head to have a view.... not very safety conscious of the parents. L_club23 4th Gear May 8, 2014 Share May 8, 2014 (edited) Hi bros, planning to have a second one soon at the same time car almost going expire already. New car prices out of my budget so considering second hand. Could someone please tell me if normal cars e.g. altis or suv like forester or Suzuki vitara can fit two child seats behind plus an adult in middle? Total members in family 3 adults 1 child and planning to have one more.suddenly thought this child seats thing previously only budget was in my mind. If altis this size can't fit does it mean have to go up to like Chevrolet epica size? 5-series, can for middle person to be seated comfortably. Ahseng 5th Gear May 8, 2014 Author Share May 8, 2014 5-series, can for middle person to be seated comfortably. Paisay bro, boh budget for BMW. I doubt my budget even enough for a toyota or honda, Thats why i'm looking for makes that are relatively cheaper compared to the common brands. Acemundo Supercharged May 8, 2014 Share May 8, 2014 (edited) hee, I also got 2 child seats in 4 dr sedan car. currently my 2 boys are aged 2 and 3 respectively and I have been doing so for the past 1 year. I prefer to put the second child seat in the rear middle seat but my wife prefers to give both boys the window seats with view so the rear middle seat is mostly unused. my elder boy in fact prefers to sit in the middle nowadays. soon looking for a booster seat for him and then this problem of wasted middle seat will no longer be. Watwheels Supersonic May 8, 2014 Share May 8, 2014 (edited) See whether got used Toyota Sienta. 1.5L 4+2 config with sliding doors to easily get in & out of. It's not a looker but definitely practical. A friend has one. I find it spacious for family with toddlers. Edited May 8, 2014 by Watwheels

Cracker 1st Gear May 8, 2014 Share May 8, 2014 exactly lor. seldom remove. so how the centre squeeze an adult dun choose those "atas" brand child seat.. they will occupy slightly more than 1 car seat width. There are some brand which are slightly narrower but still does the job.. it is gonna be abit tight.or squeezy for whoever sitting in the middle seat... In my wish, the 2nd row seat is 40:60 fold from left to right. So we used to put one child seat on the 2nd row left, and the other child seat in 3rd row left. Almost never removed the seats until they outgrew the need. Wife would bring the younger one sit on 3rd row. We chose left, cos the right side of 2nd row is wider (the '60' part), and when pushed forward, is easier to access 3rd row (as compared to pushing forward left seat of 2nd row). When we needed to put stroller and groceries or other stuff when 3rd row is occupied (weekends), they will go to front passenger seat or 2nd row empty seats... leyche but no choice...
