sometimes i wonder if these so-called superfoods are overhyped or not ?

In some way, yes.

These definitely seem to be healthy ingredients for eating. But they are all overhyped.

depends whether they are in fashion or not.  [laugh]

Coconut oil was blamed for everything bad in the past, but now is revered.

Same thing with many other foods. All are influenced by farming/commodity lobbyists (big time players, not poor farmers. Farmers the most plant what is in fashion) and governments. So there goes for palm oil, peanuts, potatoes, soybeans........

Back to cars. Diesel was blamed also until one day our skoolers took a step back when the German car conglomerates came and knock on their doors to hard sell their diesel cars. Then, diesel tax was drastically cut. Now, diesel cars no longer in fashion in EU, ......... :XD:

Everything in this planet exist for a reason, whether they are good or evils.

Quinoa used to be cheap food for the Andean people.

Since its "discovery" the price has shot up like crazy.

The Andean people probably can't afford their old staple food now.

Was introduced to chia seeds some years back as it can help lower cholesterol. In conjunction with a sensible diet, of course.

Tried mixing it with rolled oats but did not like the taste in cooked form.

So now I just sprinkle the seeds onto my milk and cereal supper.

dont cook your rolled oats. soak it overnight with youghurt, milk, chia seeds (plus whatever nuts or fruits u like). you wont notice them during consumption. save gas/electricity also la.
