Honda Vezel

Collected my car last night. Trying to get the hang of driving it, the switches, the console, the audio system and overall feel of it.

One thing I noticed is that is different from my previous Honda is space like wallet slots or bigger door shelves to place things (instead of just for a water bottle). Then again, it's a SUV, so I fully understand the upgrade.

To me, the engine purrs nicely, driver sits high and there is a certain 'presence' the car gives (cannot explain it!). Wife and kids love it (that's important!) and the blue colour we chose looks great!

Congrats!!

Congrats.

Do note that the door grip on the inner door panel has nearly the same dimension as our regular cards, eg. Cash card. So you may not want to place your cards flatly in those pockets. Taking them out will be a challenge.

Bros who have collected your X vezel, need your help to verify if it is true that the X vezel has a OMV of 20K and above and thus the loan will be 50% and DP 50%. Thks in advance.

Congrats to those bros who have just collected their vezels and sharing it online the pics. Real envious of me.....LOL

Just saw 2 X vezels in the USED car section, 1 registered in Aug'14 with OMV below 20K and 1 registered in Sep'14 with OMV above 20K. So the OMV can varies even for the same X vezel. Can mean alot to potential buyer who prefer the OMV to be lower so can go for the 40% DP and 60K loan. Otherwise OMV above 20K will have no choice but will have to settle for 50-50. Anyone able to share/explain the diff? Can our PIs dictate the OMV? OneMotoring says the OMV is declared upon inspection by Customs.......

Congrats on getting your new ride. Post some photos if possible. Cannot wait to get mine in Nov.

Hopefully more of on the road so easier to get parts & accessories, especially if M'sia launch this model as well.

I think the OMV is determine by how much the PI declare on the value of the car when they imported it in. If the car is equipped with leather seat, car accessories, body kit, ... and many more from japan, naturally the import value of the car will be higher and so translate to higher omv.

Correct me if I'm wrong. :)

Anyone putting rustproofing or soundproofing in the wheel arch? Is it a good idea? Saw it has painted body parts there and Honda tend to have very thin paints.

Any recommendations for insurance?

I think OMV is also dictated by the currency exchange rate at time of import...

Been driving the Vezel for a couple of days now and really enjoying it! Still learning a lot about the car, though. Pushed it to 120 along CTE (!!) this morning just to feel the bugger and if felt smooth, 'light' yet powerful (make sense?!).

Apologise if I sound "suar-koo" but I have never driven an SUV before, let alone own one! The past 30+ years of driving has always been saloon (family oriented) cars and having to face the traditional analog dashboard display ... Ha ha!

So while trying to figure out the digital dashboard, for example, I noticed a red blinking light in the dashboard after I locked the car. It does not go off at all. I can't seem to find it in the manual. The thing is, I only noticed it last night - didn't see it on the first night at home, or when at showroom when browsing or when I went to collect the car (maybe it was day-time, or was unlocked?).

Anything to worry about (eg. drain the battery)? The car started find this morning, by the way.

Thanks
