You have a point on selling your own car in sgcarmart to get better prices.

That said, some dealers esp ADs will give you an overtrade for your ride and even though they quote you lower, the overtrade more than makes up for the lower price quoted. You will not be able get this difference if you got no car to trade in eg Your car worth $30k, they give you a $5k overtrade but value your car only at $28k so take in your car at $33k so you still better off by $3k.

However, this may not be applicable for PIs

But sometimes selling car direct to buyer also troublesome as buyer need to source own loan, then need to go LTA do transfer, etc etc. You will also meet low-baller, story-teller, aeroplane pilot and all the other kind of pattern. And also there is the possibility that after a few days/weeks/mnths down the road, buyer start harassing you saying this spoil, that missing, etc etc etc. Whereas if you sell to dealer - it is a clean break. No trouble no hassle. So earn a few thousand less but a lot more convenience may be ok for some.

Not necessarily sell to direct seller but opening up to more dealers ,where some of the more aggressive ones can still offer you a few thousand more than the second hand car dealers linked to the new car dealers.

Oh but one problem is other dealer will want your car soon, if not on the spot. Trading in with the dealer you get your new car from ensures a smooth transition from one car to the other.

COE results are out. Based on new COE, checking with my 2 narrowed down dealers, price are as follows.

JDM: 105,888. Guaranteed COE no topups. Rebate at 53k.

Auto Selection: 104,800. Guaranteed COE no topups. Rebate at 48k.

After speaking to both on the phone, I have decided to sign with Auto Selection. My decision based on the fact that JDM is not so upfront when I asked abt the price. Its advertised as 104,888 but was only told it was non-guaranteed COE when I asked. Add $1k for guaranteed no topups. So just this non-upfront approach was enough to sway me elsewhere.

Just sharing my experience. I prefer straight forward ppl that are transparent.

So in summary can I say that when going to visit a pi show room should ask the following

1. Price

2. Coe rebate amount

3. Guaranteed Coe with or without top up?

4. How many bids? And in how many months?

5. Expected delivery date or ready stock Sale?

6. List of accessories or freebies?

7. Warranty?

8. Refund of deposit takes how long if dun wan top up or non guaranteed.

Doing a checklist and dun wan to miss anything out...

Yes. Should ask about all these but more importantly, it should be stated in the sales agreement. It should also state the compensation agreed upon for late delivery. Edited by menace66

Bro menace66,

did u really sign on the dot with Auto Selection already?

Base on the price you given it seems like car price it self is already $56,888 after deducting actual paid price of $104,800 - $48,000(coe rebate).

Did the SA indicate date of confirmed delivery of your car or estimated date only?

Cos' my concern is unless nex coe price hovers close to 48-50k than maybe ur PI might secure the COE bid for you.. anything above that they might hang till the very last hope.

If you yet to sign on the line... try hunting around with more comparism before commiting.

Just sharing my 2cent observations. All the best [:)]

Hi bro,

Will be signing today. And will try to get a confirmed delivery date. I have looked ard quite a lot. Since I am not a risk taker, i wanted the guranteed COE no topups package. And from that, the best offer will be from JDM. But since there has been some bad reviews and from my experience with dem I have decided against it.

From the way I see it, prices are all pretty much the same. Its juz where the risk is allocated to. I have a good feel at Auto Selection so will go with dat. Contractually they are supposed to get the COE no matter what, so it does not bother me when they will bid for it. And yes, I agree they will probably not bid as long as there is a chance to get COE lower and closer to the $48k rebate value.

Either way, whichever COE package we opt for, there will be pros and cons. Juz a matter of which one we prefer. Cheers. :)

Hi all, I have some questions on Vezel...

1) The LED headlights is there a light bulb inside? In case light spoilt can it be replaces like typical halogen headlight?

2) Does the LED headlight do hi-beam as well? Hi-beam from the same twin square projector lense?

3) How is the visiability of LED headlight from the driver's point of view? Is it consider as good as HID projector headlight?

4) The rear lights I noticed that the portion on the boot lid does not light up? Shouldn't there be LED lights at that portion as well? Cos I saw those light-tubes ones (not available locally) both the boot lid portion and the stationery portion lighted same time.

A question that I have if any experts can answer, if I opt for guaranteed COE, no topups in the SA.

What will happen in case the dealer fails to bid for my COE within the stipulated delivery date of my car and ends up in a non-delivery?

Is the dealer liable for any compensation due to me since it is clearly stated it is "guaranteed"?

To me white Vezel look elegant and bigger in size. As to maintain the cleanness of a white car is totally impossible to me [thumbsdown]

So I chosen blue. [sleeping]

Advertise when your new car is about to be ready. I am amazed that if 2-3k difference in price of a new car can have an impact on making a decision to buya car, why not indulging in extra legwork to sell your existing car on your own for an extra 2-3k?

I have been monitoring the bids by dealers on the "auction" feature at Sgcarmart and some of the bids for well kept cars can be close to asking prices of the same car by other second hand car dealers, even if one does not want to go through the trouble of selling to a direct buyer.

I asked almost every Vezel dealet with a good package about trade in price of my current car. Best offer was from Auto Selection which offered 4k more than any other dealers. 1 to 1 exchange with new car upon delivery.

This offer was only 1k less than the eventual deal which I settled for selling my car on sgcarmart to another 2nd hand dealer which alrdy had a buyer in hand. Juz fyi for those looking to trade in their cars.
