assuming the price, design, specs & features are ok for you, what other criterias do you look for?

given a 5yr/100,000km warranty against a 3yr/100,000km, is the 3yr gonna be worse off?

given that most drivers mileage per annum is typically ~20k..3 years/100k is actually worse off..5 years/100k might be better unless you drives a lot

Turbocharged

Reputation is important also.

For example a certain brand famous for gearbox issues.

I would bet one will be super pissed if he needs to send.. not drive.. it in for repairs once every few weeks, despite still under warranty coverage?

I prefer a reliable car with 1 yr / 20,000km warranty over a problematic one with 5yr / 100,000 km.

I will consider the reputation of the car loved to be pampered in the workshop vs the car loved to be driven on the road more.

nowadays really hate to spend time at workshop rectifying something. A couple of days ago, went down to ICE workshop to install alarm, reverse cam and dvd player for 3 hours plus already feeling sleepy and tired. Cannot imagine having a car which loved to be at the workshop.

Years back my Legacy GT only warranty 1 yr and 20k km nia..

Zero issues till I sold it at 5yr old.

Redlined it often, gone long road trips and so on, but service it religiously.

Only wear and tear replacements when the time is 'up'.

Later gotten C180k, also zero issues so far after it's 3 yr warranty ended.

For me I think I'll for for the 5 years warranty as you never know what will happen.

My steering pump failed on me and lucky still have 6 months before end of the 5th year of warranty (free replacement including towing). That is the only major issue with the car other then that nothing much.
