Did my first top up.

I'm able to top up till 69.52 litre when leaving the tank with 40km to empty tank before topping up.

After full top up can travel 619km

Thanks for the photo... hmmm... that means my trip computer something wrong... I left the tank until 46 km and only pumped in 56.56 L... but yours can pump in 69 L... means only about 1 L left in the tank... wah... you brave soul... hahaha...

Hmmm... but also something wrong leh... when you pump in the fuel to full tank, you have 70 L. If your range is only 619 km, that makes the fuel consumption 8.84 km / L. It's obviously not like that... the minimum range we should see should be 700 km leh... that would just be 10 km / L which is a reasonable level to expect for a 2.0 L car...

I see that you pump the fuel in M'sia. So maybe their pumps are calibrated differently from us. Our fuel pumps may stop at a more conservative level so that the fuel won't accidentally spill out and damage the paintwork of the car.

Not sure, just hazarding a guess... a bit miffed that the trip computer isn't very accurate or reliable at this point.

Everytime I top up I will fill till the rim. But not those overflow kind. So maybe that's how I get my 60 plus litre?

Oh you pump yourself? I leave it to the pump attendant who will stop when the pump auto detects the tank is full. This way its more less consistent so that I can track the consumption properly.

Yes it's a car forum. So it's for discussion of cars, not for you to diss other people. And certainly not for inappropriate sexual innuendos and crude Neanderthal waving of your willy around. You want to do that, please crawl back to your hole in the ground. No one is stopping you dropping by to give some constructive comments or asking questions or making requests for information. But you've been rather obnoxious in dissing others and throwing insults around at no provocation.

Not a good idea, you should leave some space inside for any expansion during a hot day. Better to stop once the pump nozzle auto shut off the first time.

I think people do that to reduce the frequency to petrol kiosk.. squeezing additional 5litres can cover at least 50km more already.

No lar... there shouldn't be any significant expansion. The fuel tank is insulated. Unless the external temperature climbs to 60-70 degrees Celsius, the petrol shouldn't expand drastically if it stays in the liquid form. It's only dangerous if the petrol starts to vaporise inside the fuel tank although the pressure inside the tank will prevent this from happening until the external temperature reaches a very dangerous level.

The idea of the pump switching off at a certain level is to prevent spillage of fuel which is both a waste and an explosion hazard. Not to mention that the additives in the fuel these days are also corrosive and will destroy your paintwork, melt the rubber and plastic fittings and discolour metal surfaces that have been treated. If your skin comes into contact with the petrol, you might also feel a burning sensation as the additives corrode your skin. So best to just stop pumping when the auto-stop function is triggered at the pump.

Actually different pump attendants do different things...They may not stop when the auto stop is detected. I have encountered some that continue to pump after that 'click' to round off to nearest dollar. Some others just lift the pump and put back. I had one case he kept going till can see the fuel bubbling near the top of the tank... Maybe newbie
