Reo 4th Gear July 6, 2018 Share July 6, 2018 Indeed, every one is in business to make a living. However, it's a different thing when installer was happy to take on a job even though BYO parts was discussed and parts shown. Labour charge is quoted (in hundreds) and when agreed upon, at least conduct business professionally. With internet, WoW is crucial to identify an installer vs a good one. My past dealings with Dimension Audio & AutoImage were good. I can tell you even those so called well known shops cannot be trusted one. They have to make money to survive. Cephas 3rd Gear July 8, 2018 Share July 8, 2018 But end of the day, if YOU feel the money paid is well spent, in terms of service level, no post installation issue like electrical leak, this is more important.
Reo 4th Gear July 8, 2018 Share July 8, 2018 I don't see any harm to discuss recommendations but shops to avoid as well. Words to ponder: Every coin has two sides. richard_crl032 6th Gear July 8, 2018 Share July 8, 2018 (edited) Hope this thread does not evolve into shop installers hater thread Just for joke: Got time, no money: DIY Got money, no time: pay for carrot service Hi Cephas, No choice one .. must pay for quality and service as well as to save time to make $ to pay. Stick to reputed ones and should be ok .. they are reputed in the 1st place and still around for some reasons but up to individuals if they have the budget. Quality, Service and Cheap ... pls see attachment. However if truly into ICE, learning how to tune is certainly preferred as installers equipment ages, your preference changes and you may upgrade or even replace faulty equipment with online cheaper equivalent .. but it takes many tanks of petrol and many many nites of staying in your ride. Cheers. Richard Edited July 8, 2018 by richard_crl032

Hosaybo 6th Gear July 13, 2018 Share July 13, 2018 Like some views from people here. For those using under seat active sub, what is the recommended location to install.... Under driver or passenger seat? And why?
Reo 4th Gear July 13, 2018 Share July 13, 2018 Don't think it matters, since low frequency is not directional. For my case, gotta juggle between amp and woofer which fits where. Mine is below driver's seat Like some views from people here. For those using under seat active sub, what is the recommended location to install.... Under driver or passenger seat? And why? Hosaybo 6th Gear July 13, 2018 Share July 13, 2018 (edited) One installer I know mentioned that the sub should be on the passenger side or else, no matter how you tune, you won't get it right. Technically low freq is not so directional but active sub might not go that low. Any views? Edited July 13, 2018 by Hosaybo

Theoldjaffa Hypersonic July 16, 2018 Share July 16, 2018 (edited) anyone heard about the audio shop at Alexandra village? name of the audio shop is Specialist Audio Accessories. It is nearer to my home so thought of upgrading my speakers. Need a reliable one at Alexandra village. Anyone can advise? Thanks Look for Kelvin the young boss. I did my car cam there twice for my current car. First a Marbella where they're one of the official installers, and the other the iRoad + aux battery pack after I kena hit and run. Reasonable prices and the workers did the job nice and fast. I think they are ok just by observing how the workers work. The brands of speakers they carry is not many iirc but I think they can indent. Remember to soundproof 2 layers for your front door. It helps alot.
