Between them, the luxury liner Queen Mary II of the Cunard Cruise Line and Voyager of the Seas, operated by Royal Caribbean International, can take more than 5,000 passengers. It created a bottleneck of vehicles arriving and going. Though Thursday's incident was especially protracted, traffic congestion is one of a string of problems to plague MBCCS since it began operations in May 2012. Passengers have complained about long waits at the immigration checkpoints, and for taxis. - See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/transport/story/marina-bay-cruise-centre-plagued-gridlock-due-swell-passengers-when-s#sthash.InNtQPKs.dpuf -Source: Straits Times. Watwheels Supersonic April 16, 2014 Share April 16, 2014 (edited) Well they place the centre where birds dun even want to go there and lay eggs. The mrt station is not ready till dunno when. This is next to the Marina South Pier btw. But it's a distance to walk. For ppl with loads of luggage and children. It's "very far". The current bus stop is also near the Pier with like only one bus service. C0ck right? So with no public transport right at the doorstep only cars could access the place. Whoever plan this deserved to have a vasectomy. Prease do not reproduce future generations of dumbass. At least at places like Harbour Front ppl have easy access to train, buses and taxis, got shopping mall, cafe & restaurants. Down at the MBCC the taxis won't want to even go there coz it's deserted when no cruise ship arrives. Edited April 16, 2014 by Watwheels

Heartbreakid 6th Gear April 16, 2014 Share April 16, 2014 Whatever SG does, especially for roads, they loves to create bottlenecks at certain point. Merging lanes or dead ends are perfectly fine when traffic is light. When it gets heavy, jams occur. With such infrastructure, how to support 6.9m when our road networks, public transports, uitilities unable to support current population already?

Super7 Turbocharged April 16, 2014 Share April 16, 2014 Teach them not to cruise next time. "Cruise" to them means a slow progress / forward movement mah, so by creating jams where cars are moving slowly LTA is actually following the true meaning of "Cruise Centre".... Opel17 6th Gear April 16, 2014 Share April 16, 2014 Some suggestions for MBCC to consider : 1. City location for check-in and checkout of luggages. * the luggage will go directly to the respective cabins, so there is no need for intermediate handling by passengers. 2. Free shuttle services for passengers to/fro the City location. This will lessen the traffic volume to MBCC. 3. City location : Suntec City ? Convenient access to major public transport, lots of coach parking, Aircon mall, etc...
