👍.... seems to be quite a few things u changed. There's no timing belt though, the GK5 uses timing chain. I did change one of the belts, think it was for water pump. Others are just the usual wear and tear - batteries, tires...

I went ahead to change the brake rotors though. Then the same mech told me my steering rack worn out... So anyone got any advice/recommendations welcome

Not exactly if it is belt or chain. It’s the black belt-looking thing that the alternator spins with the tensioner.

what r the symptoms of worn steering rack?

my air con not cold while idle at traffic. Suspect it’s need to top up air con gas coz can hear the hizz hizz sound when stepping on accelerator.

450km seems a bit low... U don't do much expressway driving? When I was driving it to work daily (KPE/MCE/AYE), I could do like 500-600 per tank. BTW, try not to run too low on fuel everytime, not good for fuel pump which is inside the tank and depends on the fuel for cooling.

Yes. After I move house, I seldom do expressway driving. Only when visiting the folks on weekends. For weekdays I’ll take MRT to work hence car seldom move also.

b4 I move house can do 500-600km per tank also. Can even touch more than 600 but reserve light Liao

for fuel level, mostly thr lowest I’ll go is 1/4 full on gauge. Since not using car much, sometimes I pump once every 2 weeks.

Steering rack: the mech turned the steering wheel while car was stationary and said it felt loose and that there were clicking sounds 🙄

Aircon not cold only at idle? Maybe this can give some info: https://www.automovill.com/blog/why-is-your-ac-not-blowing-cold-air-when-idle

My aircon is cold enough that I've been setting it at 26 degrees all the while...

last time also 26 degree cold enuff. Now no. Next time I visit the workshop ask why. But cheapest option is top up the refrigerant.

Coolant level should be something you can check/top up yourself. And under normal/ regular servicing, would have been inspected.

I don't have prior experience with aircon issues, can't help much - but yah probably refrigerant top-up is an option. Good luck!
