2015 Lexus NX

Looking to purchase this car but seems like minimal talk about it on the forums? Anybody able to chime in on anything? I personally feel that it succeeds in being a competitive rival to the Audi Q3 and BMW X3 and perhaps the range rover evoque. With the Q3 and X3 due for renew next year I prefer not to purchase a car just to see a newer version unveiled.

Was down to the evoque and nx and in terms of reliability and sheer quality of the interior and exterior aesthetics (to me), the nx is the winner. Heading down tomorrow to iron out the financing details and see how good a deal I can get.

I took delivery recently. PM me if you need more ideas.

Thanks to all for their advice and thoughts, decided to go for the car after all.

Really had a hard time deciding the colour and the variant though! Executive and Classic is a 4 month plus wait away so decided to skip that. Luxury and F Sport was really tough and my Sales Executive mentioned some ex stock of the F Sport are available now (stocked in warehouse) at a $3000 discount off whatever the final price of a model that is incoming shipment.

However, even with that the three colours of the F Sport ex stock, Grey Black and Silver didn't really appeal and went over it with my family and decided the $3000 was well worth it for a car I am going to live with for 3-5 years and decided to give the nice discount a miss and chose our favourite colour- White (though Sonic Titanium was a real close runner's up!)

After that, was to decide the variant and oh boy was this a hard one, we racked our brains for hours on for this...  Just to help bros out here...

The Luxury Variant comes with a Pano Roof, Memory Seats, Pano Camera, Blind Spot Monitoring System and Electric Rear Seats.

The F Sport Variant comes with a more aggressive front spindle grill, dark chromed rims (same size though), adaptive variable suspension, Sport + drive mode, Sports seats (more support), sports steering wheel, black cap mirrors, drilled aluminium pedals and an option of dark rose red interior unique to F sport.

The Frills of the Luxury Variant are great to have but I find with the NX marketed and visioned to be a sporty youthful car to toss about (carefully of course) the F Sport Variant seriously is a better choice. Hence went with White F Sport and the Rose Red Interior.

Additional Note:

The Lexus RX200T Executive Variant is available just 7k more than the Nx200T Luxury/F Sport Variant and I think if you are willing to trade performance for space and refinement then the Rx makes more sense, but 0-100 in 7 flat is just irresistible on the Nx.

Congrats and thanks for the detailed contribution to the thread.

NX is a bit pricey so obviously not in the radar for most of the forumers, thus less discussion.

White is a good standout colour for NX, but be prepared to spend more time or money to maintain - need at least a weekly thorough wash and quick wax to maintain.

The RX is here already? ETA?

Rx200T Luxury is already LTA Approved, if you purchase now, delivery before 1st Jan.

Other Variants and Engine Options still awaiting and subjecting to LTA Approval so Sales Exec

don't know how to give answer cos we never know how "efficient" our dear LTA can be

Congrats and thanks for the detailed contribution to the thread.

You are welcomed and thank you too for your assistance in my purchase of the car. Cheers and may you enjoy your Nx for years to come as well.

So how much did the NX cost you? How is their trade in price as compared to other ADs?

The Nx sticker tag is far off from their actual selling price. Trade in price is agar agar one la, if you have some contacts in the industry, go through them u can get about 5-10k more than what they offer, if u sell yourself by consignment or as direct owner then u can probably get 15k more than what the AD offer.

Trade in price is one thing, Price of Nx, I won't go into specifics but it is $50k cheaper than a BMW X3 of the same engine power, $10k more ex than Q5 (cos new one coming out ler, clearing stock), and $20k cheaper than the Range Rover Evoque and also $70k+ cheaper than the base Macan.

And not to forget Lexus tend to hold their value better come resale times. So it was a real no brainer for me haha!

When I bought, I did not go and see BMW (no interest in conti) - but serious it is 50k cheaper? NX should be fighting against X3 20i right? I assume their base model is only around 200k.

Nope, if you go spec by spec, the BMW should be going against X3 28i not 20i. And the 28i with discount is only 263 or what not, very far from the Nx. You guys do the math. Cheers

Hi,

Doesn't the F Sport Variant also come with pano camera?

By the way, congrats on getting your ride. Or at least soon! Was considering the X3. This thread might change my mind!

The F Sport Variant comes with rear camera and all round sensors but no pano 360 cam which is a bummer. To be honest, my family was quite impressed with the X3 but to be honest I find only the X3 28i is a true beemer and the 20i is just a try hard. The 20i lacks even a rear camera, wheels so small, engine at 181bhp... at its about 200-210. Not to forget the X3 new model is being spyshotted alr, due for 2016/2017 due which will affect the resale next time.

You might as well hoot Nx, 235bhp, lexus reliability and its a newer car overall debut only in 2014

Went to AD 5mins ago.

Saw the RX. 20cm longer and slightly wider.

Interior has more legrooms compared to NX.

Havent discussed the price with SE yet because, went to check out the car 1st.

Overall, i m more inclined to the NX with panoramic roof. If i m gonna choose a colour..... white it shall be.

Honestly. I like it very much.....

I would say they cater to two very different crowds. One is more performance and driving oriented and the other one is more comfort and luxury oriented

RX is much more luxury, the interior built should be better. Honestly NX I find some of the interior bits are inferior to even ES (I have NX and my sister ES), is really cut-corner to make RX superior.

But exterior looks find the new RX really a bit weird with the sharp lines, NX looks much sharper and more cohesive.

If you care about resell value, I think RX will still hold value better.
