"

In response, LTA said in a letter to a driver that "individual parties are not allowed to lease/rent private hire cars from car rental or limousine service companies to convey members of the public on hire and reward terms".

The authority advised Wolero hirers "to stop your practice and return the vehicles" to the company.

"

I thought alot of people rent cars from rental companies to be Uber drivers?

Now LTA says this is illegal?

Any guru can advise?

I've been using Uber ever since my friend introduced me to it back in May this year. I think during the day it's slightly more expensive than a taxi but it's very worth it after 12am as there is no midnight charge on it.

7 weeks in a row

Saw the dashboard. Only few hours per week.

One single 4 star rating will drop your rating to 4.7.

Love the competition. It means more choices for consumers.

Love the way taxi drivers are being handed their a$$es. I am particularly peeved by how they all disappear when you need them the most and can only reach them via booking and yet you see one long line of empty cabs by the road waiting to pounce on their "prey" simply because the prey had no choice

Yes thats exactly what I thought too. We're always complaining theres not enough on the road. Now have triple the choice to make.

For me to know & u to find out.

Strangely, all these years in MCF got people defending about road safety & hoggers are always right.

I'm a speeder and why +98% of my riders like me to speed????

If u think u can drive, take on uber as a part time job and see yr rating and we will know.

All drivers and cars need to be covered under commercial insurance coverage before uber allow u to be on the road.

If I rent i'm covered under the insurance portion right?

Hi bro, i also just signed up to be a Uber driver (part time)

I just met my brother's father in law who is a taxi driver and Grabtaxi.

He was telling me about the insurance part.

For example, "touchwood" in the event of an accident and if you have a passenger in your car, the passenger claim from the driver ?

Different insurance policy applies to different car rental company.
