the same MP who says minister's high salar equated to higher dignity, so they can talk to CEO confidently. Base on his logic, Obama also not as dignified as our minister.

is there anything in Singapore that is worth invading by our neighboring countries?

by open the flood gate for foreigners is already conflicting with the need for NS to defend our home

.

Our reserve about 250 billion

2 IRs that generate more revenue than a city in malaysia

$1500 psf for jurong area and going up up up

Ministar job that pays millions

ERP gantries

And of course our world class MRT system :D

What are all these people thinking? First of all, from hearing "GST is to help the poor" to "ERP is to help more ppl own car", and now this "Serving NS is a privilege".

Knn, si beh kiang. Don't know what is going thru their mind.

Next? "COE will remain affordable"

Some people can become defense scientist

Others, well, read for yourself

That's why i will always despise colonel sanders.

no matter how white horse you are, you still have to serve NS. even if you're in music and drama company or what not. not some defence scientist who didn't even go BMT.

Anyway the NSF's death, i don't blame the officer really.

ya cant really blame the MO....it happened to my section mate too back in 85. We were just recruits and my next bed...Lim Choong *** was always reporting sick. Nobody had a clue to what was wrong with him...not even the MO. He even wanted to charge the poor fella fir supposed malingering. Fella fall down the stairs a few days before we went out for our recruit 1st field camp and the whole platoon said he was calling me for help as his buddy was not of much help. He was hispitalised the day we went out for the field camp and died on the morning of our last day of our camp. After bmt i was transfered to another platoon as they knew i was affected by his death. I was never comfortable talking about hiim not even with my family (not even a word) and only started to talk openly about his death when i was no longer liable for reservist. Crap! at 18 (havent reached my birtday) and to have somebody suffering on the next bed and you cant do much about it really made it worst!

Those MO basically just fresh from medical school, and cannot identify rare diseases or syndromes. They've been pushed into a job of great responsibility, but unlike in a hospital, they won't have senior doctors to readily consult. I've been told some MO get complaints from CO if they give too many ATT C.

Hahaha...u should have seen the report sick line in Lakiun after one of our fella reservist died. From the medical centre near the maingate all the way to the black water tank at the rear of the camp. Nb....all get Attend B and the poor MO (my friend's bro) was transferred to another unit after that. Come Taiwan the new MO was so on the ball that he gave me 3 days of mc eventhough i was under the list of pending medical review for my wrist injury. Due to his callousness i had another injury at the back of my knees which still affect me till today resulting in pain to the area at the back of the knee everytime i stand for a prolonged time! this captain can say goodbye to her career in the SAF already.

I think there is alot of miscomm or lack of proper comm and follow up between medical officers and supervising officers. everyone just assume everybody knows what they are supposed to know

i think its more of not trusting and assuming ns men reports sick to keng! KNS....at one time my unit rolled out an order that anyone reporting sick must be dressed in smart no.4 and carry their fullpack, beret included!

alot of chao regular occifer think they are better that others. their perceived inflated sense of self worth has caused many a nsf to suffer needlessly.

Every time I interview an ex army personnel. I always ask them if they are proud of being in the SAF.

I hired the only one that ever told me he regrets joining the navy.

lol

Now the situation like different already. When I was in NS I know of so many of them who regret signing on. Sign on only because they need the money.

Thats how they enticed the newly enlisted. Talk about the gratuity and the package available to them should they renew their contract. Once in...have to serve the contract and if u get an orificer who is chading his promotion or a scholar trying to prove his worth it will become hell. Many falls into the money trap and waste their time in whatever service. Thats why i adviced my son when they tried to enticed him through money and sponsorships.

regret so they can take it out on others.

the good ones will ultimately join the other side of the force....promotion and monetary gains usually wins in the end. Those that wouldnt submit to the dark force will just see out their contract and leave!

Unprofessional. I still remember one time going back for reservist .. the NSF (or regular) MO yayapayaya, totally unprofessional. I question his advice with medical facts and he just kept quiet in front of his NSF medics, don't even dare to say 2nd word on his diagnosis. Then I think he learnt not to play with reservists, but I believe he will continue to be yayapayaya with his NSFs, and I pity them. But that was decades ago, and I pray that the professionalism has improved now.

I cant confirm whether MOs are fresh out of the oven or not as was mentioned (maybe the DRs in this forum can clear up this issue) but as in any corporation ranks do play a part in a decision and he as a Captain trained in medicine has his career to think of. Dont tell me about the Hippocratic Oath....i dont see that in many of them save a few. Most of them are in it for the money and the prestige of having young hot nurses going salivating after them!
