Iridrium 1st Gear March 17, 2014 Share March 17, 2014 Singapore is facing the same problem. You mean only Malaysia got DSG problem? A250 for me too. But the article talks about poor servicing and long wait time etc and not dry clutch issues. Not to say I don't agree , just wrong example in this context . Paddie 3rd Gear March 17, 2014 Share March 17, 2014 Why not go test drive both cars and feel for yourself? I think it's generally acknowledged from overseas and local articles that the Golf as a whole is a better package than the A-Class. More comfortable, bigger interior and boot, better steering, higher quality interior, etc. But of course it doesn't have the 3 pointed star badge. Hamburger Hypersonic March 17, 2014 Share March 17, 2014 asking woman whether a star is better than a vw is like asking them which engine oil is better,,,,, bottom line, might as well dont ask...

Not so true la, i'm sure certain branding does really STAND OUT and better recognised amongst others. U go ask a lao auntie "MAR SEE LEE" better or "VOLKSWAGEN" better.... i 100% she reply of cos MARSEELEE la...the other simi sai i also never hear before. Jamesc Hypersonic March 17, 2014 Share March 17, 2014 If it was me I would buy the base A class and donate the savings to charity. If I did this, every time I get into the car I will get a great drive. A Rolls Royce taken for granted will never drive as satisfyingly as a QQ that is truely appreciated. A Vietnam manager drove me around in his aircon Chevy Spark and seeing people squashed on a non aircon bus in the afternoon on a really hot day in Hanoi made me feel so privileged. I could have been Rolls Royce and I couldn't feel any better.

Although we are generally pleased with the GTI, but it seems that the salesman is not too happy when we told him that we wanted to compare it with Mercedes A250. Canceria 1st Gear March 17, 2014 Share March 17, 2014 (edited) Hi, suggest u go with A250 if price is not a concern. 6 speed dsg for both Vw and Audi is not bullet proof. I'm speaking from experience. The cost to replace a faulty mechatronic after warranty ranges from $3,800 to $5,800. Just arranged a test drive for a class this sat. Skyone Neutral Newbie March 17, 2014 Share March 17, 2014 I will give a250 a second look on the road. Golf shape quite out dated already. My own view.
Coltplussport Turbocharged March 17, 2014 Share March 17, 2014 Buying cars in singapore is really sucky, when we said that the government's taxes and Coe is killing us, anyone ever found out that the profit margin from car dealers is often more expensive than the car( OMV) itself. Why would just the profit margin be more than the cost of car? Why are we paying dealers so well for importing the cars?
