Knoobie Supercharged March 13, 2014 Share March 13, 2014 My friend's child care already practicing water ration 3 weeks ago. Don't know why his 3 yr old daughter got groin inflection, spend 5hours at KK last Sunday. My boy needs to be shower 3 times daily otherwise he will develop rashes. If really got such water ration, children developed inflections, rashes etc, who take care of medicine bills? If water ration is in place, can start from the least important to survival such as car wash, cleaning, etc. in that case, have you brought your son to a doctor to figure out a way to fight the rashes? I think it is good for kids to go thru water ration exercise to help them understand the importance of it. should the day come when singapore really not enough water, shower 3 times daily is a luxury already.. so I will suggest you to bring your son to a doctor now if you haven't done it..

Just give more powder bath and change of clothes(LoL, also waste more water washing clothes). Children skin are indeed more sensitive. Haha...it's more difficult to save water when you have children. Bring them to swimming pool.

I believe the nature is just to let people know what to expect and also how to deal with the situation and not have a mad rush to the nearest store for bottled water. Just like the normal fire drill you have in office that you do annually. In the event if this drought continues and our reservoir is at critical level, we as citizens will know what is the best actions to take to survive through this ordeal.

Fact: Powder being rubbed into skin, skin cant breath, developing rashes.

Like what Knoobie says, maybe you need to bring your boy to a doc and figure out the rashes. Cannot take for granted that there won't be rationing. We're already into mid-March and still no water from the sky. We're not that far away from our "dry season" and my concern is that we'll run into May/June without getting much rain at all. Vhtfhwlego Supercharged March 13, 2014 Share March 13, 2014 i think people are too clean nowadays, a little dust will cause their immune system to breakdown. Somehow I agree. Food we take is already controlled. Places we go, mostly air-con. Bring kid outdoor, see got sand on the slide, wanna let son play, scare wife scold. Haiz... In the end, clean out the worst area and continue let son play.
Carnoob Supercharged March 13, 2014 Author Share March 13, 2014 Basically the exercise should also serve as a wake up call for us as a nation. We are talking about Total Defence but are we doing it? We used to view Total Defence "seriously", Ichibawa brought a very good point, we do fire drill in the office how about doing water ration exercise, basic fire fighting exercise etc. I'm seeing less and less Total Defence activities... Only talk no action... When will we learn, talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words...

Apply tons of cream can only temporary help. If comes a day need to ration, hope that the system will be fair to allocate per person use rather than per household. He's sensitive to sweat. If he perspire, we have to clean him up either wiping him down or bathing him. Morning shower, Evening shower. In between, school shower (2pm). So if water ration kicks in, stop the morning showering right?

Carnoob Supercharged March 13, 2014 Author Share March 13, 2014 If comes a day need to ration, hope that the system will be fair to allocate per person use rather than per household. Another good reason we should do it now since we still can fine tune the water ration to each household. We know nothing about how much water to be given, how it should be given etc. When we do it only when we need to, then prepare to hear the "roar" of the peasants... many will not be happy.
