Do you have any feedback of the car? How is the fc? The sales guy said realistically about 12km/L.

 

i was in a friend's Qashqai in the UK last week, 1.5 Diesel....on the meter it says 650 miles to go, on a full tank...i'm waiting for this to come to our shores.

Now the price states "from" 141,500 that would means got different variant? Is it due to the lack off on board entertainment n reverse camera? The price is just too steep consider when they launch was 131. - 134k. Sigh.

 

There is only one option, no other variant like previous model like without moonroof or +2 model. So far only factory fitted HU, no reverse camera. Was offered 1k off from published price for the lack of GPS/reverse camera etc.

This is crazy even if I like the car very much. Honda vezel OMV is like 20k also.

 

With after market things installed will also cost 2k plus, the discount they gave n pricing of car is just to steep.

Just gotten mine. Love the ride. Very comfortable interior - got the conti feel.

Fc around 12-13km/l, handling is good with active braking. Can't compare with a conti sedan for sure.

They told me I can upgrade to a touch screen version with reverse cam and navigation similar to Teana 2.5. They say should be coming soon in Oct as an optional accessory.

Worth considering :)

Handling IMHO is good, if you like Ford Focus, Fiesta's handling, you will probably like it. Pretty agile. But nothing beats test driving as it's all down to own preference.

 

FC wise again can be due to many factors. I have done 5+l/100km but this is with air-con off. Average with 80% highway can lead to 7+l/100km. I am sure it can hit 6+ cruising on Malaysia highway. But again I am not an aggressive driver.

 

As for HU, I believe they offer a local fitted unit now with GPS, DVD etc. PM me if you want to know more.

I'm wishing for a hybrid car few years ago... Main thing about hybrid is their FC.... very very good.. but you have to scarifies the power. Lower than their petrol version. But good enough as a B&B car..

 

I'm sure you heard a lot problems for Vezel hybrid as of now.. Personally, if you really like the hybrid version, I would only consider from AD, not PI. If you get from a good and responsible (very hard to judge) you'll be safe, otherwise.... good luck.

 

I think most important things if go ahead test drive the car you are looking. Everyone have their own taste and opinion...

As an ex-Civic FD3 Hybrid owner, I'll say that the main problem is the on/off power.

When the battery is low, there is little assist and the car feels really flat. But when it is charged, there is instant torque; feels great.

Not all hybrids are lower in power than the petrol models either. Eg are the big Lexus, BMW and Porsche hybrids which are actually the more powerful models (and road tax takes this into account as well).

I have not heard of any Civic Hybrid owners shorting out their cars in floods so I don't think this is an issue.

The Vezel Hybrid recalls were to do with their new dual clutch gearboxes as far as I know and not with the hybrid system.

I do agree that if I ever buy a Hybrid again (not likely), I would get it from an AD.

The hybrid batteries do not do well in our hot climate.

Really enjoying the ride. Gotten it for about 3 weeks and averaging about 11.5km/l, 70% highway. Really loved the interior. Handling is an improvement from the previous Qashqai model.

Update after I check it out these few days.

Wonder if their GPS can be updated ourselves or have to pay lots of money for TC to upgrade the maps like the case of our Murano?

Tested the xtrail today. Felt sluggish compared to qashqai although using same engine. Qashqai made in uk xtrail made in japan. Anyone else test drive? Care to share?

but this monster looks good n has more styling trim than qashqai.

Got allview camera, auto tailgate, passenger seat has gravityzero seat, 2nd row aircon.

Prefer qashqai moonroof over x-trail sunroof...

Price now 10k above qashqai quite a good buy. also saw the locally fitted hud today actually looks quite sleek.

I think the specs are better than Qashqai for 10k more. However they are using the same engine as Qashqai but with heavier body - obviously more sluggish.

Yep i think 10k quite a good deal. Omv is about 2k more It would b much better if its a 2.5l for the xtrail. The handling felt little different too. Xtrail using footbrake while qashqai using a electric brake clip at the gearbox.

 

Not sure if it just me but qashqai interior felt much quieter too. Sound proofing better i guess.

Just made the booking, kinda of like the new HU. But just to check, if I wanna install amp for the speaker or other minor changes, the setup should be similar to any Japan car right? Despite made in UK. And also if you all did any paint protector and recommendation?
