Forte3737 5th Gear April 8, 2016 Share April 8, 2016 There is no way to tell now since no dig-t has reached 10 years. With an educated guess, you should be able to tell what kind of strain a heavy body would do to a small displacement engine in the long run. It will need overhaul? Hd2004 2nd Gear April 8, 2016 Share April 8, 2016 LTA? What can they do for you?Agreed. LTA role is to make money. Hence, they are on the side of the car seller unless there are cases of serious accident else they would not do anything but to "entertain" your complain ONLY. If you are using the LTA route.. Be prepared to chase them diligently and also to provide solid evidents...
Goodrealm 1st Gear April 8, 2016 Share April 8, 2016 Just sent my QQ for 5k servicing at BT, informed the service agent about the infamous rattling sound coming from the glove compartment area and he gave me a bewildered look as if he has never heard of this issue before. Anyway... another guy came along and he told me he will drive my car to test for the rattling sound, so off we went but the sound was not present on that day. He reassured me that the sound is intermittent as it comes and goes but he will advice the mechanic to do some form of insulation to rectify this issue for me. Collected my car after servicing and didn't notice the sound anymore. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will not return

Mred1-2 4th Gear April 8, 2016 Share April 8, 2016 I somehow find the Dig-T a very amusing car. Car looks big on the outside, but feels compact on the inside. Engine is super tiny at only 1.2 litres and even with a turbo, acceleration is still poor at above 12 sec from 0-100. With an above 100 grand price tag, I would go for a car that is at least 1.5 litre, especially with a heavy body like an SUV. Again, that is just my opinion :) Yes car looks bigger due to pronounced wheel arches and elevated ground clearance. But think and feel no use one, have you test drive? MikeTan_164557 April 8, 2016 Share April 8, 2016 I tested in BT, really feels underpowered for a turbo car. When I told the SE, all she could say was it is only a 1.2 litre engine (half expected this answer). I didn't like the body roll as well, but that is typical of SUVs so can't complain. I told myself that for a hundred over grand, I shouldn't have to compromise on the lack of power due to a small engine, just doesn't make sense especially when i can easily get a higher cc car with more power for that price range. Also in terms of FC, i wouldn't scream that it is fantastic, it is just so so. Yes car looks bigger due to pronounced wheel arches and elevated ground clearance. With an educated guess, you should be able to tell what kind of strain a heavy body would do to a small displacement engine in the long run. I agree totally... While luck also plays an important part. Sometimes the unit you got happens have a part assembled by a worker on a bad day.... Hahaha... Regardless of the brand, there will be 'special' units. However, I believe our local climate where it is hot also poses certain effects on the materials especially rubber and plastics where it will age faster. Additionally, the engine compartment nowadays are also more compact, thus trapping hot air longer. You can try opening up the bonnet after driving 15 mins and feel the heat. Even the bonnet stand will burn you if you were to touch it firmly. So if one is to cyclic the hot cold process on the avg of 3 times a day..... From an design, engineering and theory perspective, nothing should go wrong. But from a reality perspective, any car, plane or object is only as robust as its weakest component or process. So morale of the story is ...... 'LET' US ALL JUST ENJOY OUR RIDE'

MikeTan_164557 April 8, 2016 Share April 8, 2016 I personally feel that for a close to 1300kg SUV, it is best to stick to a displacement of 1400cc minimally with at least 130hp without turbo. Certain factors like weather we can't control, but we can definitely still make wise choices based on some common sense especially if we are going to part with 100 grand of our hard earned money. Haha, else we have to drive a manual gear shift car without power steering, traction control and abs. Now I'm already used to the auto lights, cruise control, keyless entry/start, electronic handbrake, etc.

hr1988 1st Gear April 8, 2016 Share April 8, 2016 (edited) 99% on first bid.... i was informed on Wednesday after bid closed, 3rd attempt, still unsuccessful. car ETA end Apr/early may pearl white I must be the 1% Sorry to hear that bro. Did you get the 6 bid non-guaranteed package? Even so, many of the Bros here got it on the first bid if I'm not wrong from what I read in the earlier posts. Maybe you should pressure your SE. And btw I think you can check using your singpass whether did they even place a bid. And at what price did they bid PS: 99% may not be accurate, it's based on what I see in forums.. Seldom see people saying they failed to get. So. Haha Edited April 8, 2016 by hr1988 ↡ Advertisement
