Has anyone ever thought of fitting a sound bar for car use?

i was watching Pimp my ride and they could frigging fit 40" TVs into estates.
So why not a simple sound bar?

Do you think it is plausible?
what kinda stuff do we have to look out for if we want to DIY this kinda thing?

definitely possible.

You will need an inverter and it may not sound nice...

You'll need an inverter, and inverters usually are relatively bulky to hide somewhere in the dash, and they need good ventilation but yet are noisy. So a bit pointless, for the trouble you can just get a decent pair of speakers. Not to mention a soundbar's staging will be totally off in a car.
