Dear Folks,

 

Anyone been to or stay in Dubai ? Is the thing there cheaper than Singapore ? Things like electronics, gadget, apple etc....

 

Planning to make a trip there, if its cheaper will bring more cash.

if you like branded stuff this could be the place ....You be amazed if you like those example ladies bag like Longchamp,Prada,LV,YSL....etc..etc...cheaper than here..

Yup things are cheaper there but its not really those jaw dropping cheap because in Sg our imports are tax free. Our Chinese friends from the mainland loves Dubai because for them its very much cheaper compared to their local import due to luxury tax.

You get knock-off everywhere :) Yes, Dragon Mart is one of them places. Damn place is a kilometer long.

 

You can get perfumes for cheap in Bur Dubai.

 

I don't find other stuff that much cheaper. At least not worth the hassle of carrying it back and warranty and stuff.

 

But you're going now bro? Bloody hot now. Best time to visit would be Nov-Feb.

foodcourt & restaurants : Dubai more expensive.

 

Electronic stuff : About the same price,

 

Luxury handbags : About the same or slightly more expensive than here depending on brand

 

Luxury watches : Dubai cheaper and can negotiate especially Rolex. Dubai is the next best after HK for luxury watches.

 

Normal pharmacy medicine : Dubai much much cheaper!! You can stock your vitamins, cold medicines, allergy medicines while you are in Dubai!

 

Gold : You may not believe but physical gold (gold bars, gold coins) is slightly cheaper here.

 

Spices : Dubai famous for this stuff, I think cheaper bah....never really compare.

 

If have time, go down to Dubai Marina to have a view of our "Shenton Way/MBS" but much nicer surroundings.

Thanks again for the reply...hmmmm....how about if staying there....better than Singapore ? Might have a opportunity to move there for couple of years so planning to go take a look.

Any bros can advice is it easy to get a pre-paid phone card in Dubai airport?

Important things is must have data roaming.

Also does Wi-Fi commonly available in Dubai?

Yes it is. Du counters at airport

Wi-fi easily available.

 

Lived there for 2 years. If you going for holiday, try to avoid summer months.

Cheaper, but u'll spend every second indoors.
